Neither Dale Steyn nor Vernon Philander were picked with Steyn rested ahead of the home Tests against New Zealand in August and Philander not considered despite making a return from injury.

"Tri-Series leg comes at a great time"

“The pitch at Providence is in great shape with excellent grass growth as many of our regional teams would have observed during the regional four-day which ended in March. Accommodation is ready and the other requirements are falling into place.”

He added, “The GCB has the capacity to host and we take pride in our execution. We have already established the necessary committees and the point persons have experience with hosting international cricket events. There is collaboration between all entities to ensure that we are all on the same page.”

The director also mentioned that the GCB has the full support of the Sport and Tourism ministries, and because of the Independence celebrations, “we expect great crowd support”.

The first three matches in the series which starts on June 3 will be played at Providence, as International cricket returns to Guyana for the first time in over three years.

The last time an International game was played here was in 2013 when West Indies beat Pakistan by 37 runs in the second ODI of the five-match series

Head Curator Wazim Habib says the ground should in top shape by the time the series starts and informed the only minor concern is a small section of the field which was damaged earlier

A damaged section of the ground caused by Football.
this month when the Golden Jaguars opposed Canada U-23 in a friendly Football encounter.

Nice to see Shamsi there.
How the hell does Marchant keep getting close to the international side ? He can barely make the Titans side as is.

Ugh and please please please let this be the end of Behardien.
Seriously there's gotta be talent available than him on the local circuit.
