Aleem Dar, the Pakistani umpire who recently officiated in his 100th Test, has been drawn into a row involving one of Britain's oldest cricket clubs, after his sons lied about being Scottish.

Kilmarnock Cricket Club were this week thrown out of the first division of the Western District Cricket Union in Scotland after it emerged that Ali and Hassan Dar had circumvented eligibility rules by falsely claiming to have been born in Glasgow.

The pair registered under the pseudonyms Umer Mustafa and Saleh Mustafa to compete for Kilmarnock in a number of fixtures in the 2015 season, one of which - against Stenhousemuir in August - was watched by Dar himself.

I do confirm that I, along with my wife, went to watch the game but it was a friendly game I thought," Dar told ESPNcricinfo. "I went there to watch my sons and nephew Azeem, but I didn't know that my sons were playing with different names."

Really? He watched the game and didn't know they were playing under different names?

Cheating umpire begets cheating sons. I hope that's what you mean.

I wonder how much this goes on at club level,I recall a Trini Daryl Brown, played with a club under a different name,Smith,he was caught and banned. He was a big fast bowler and can bat a bit.Dar's son are not the first and won't be the last. It's not a big facking deal.
Cool dong now.

Really? lying like this has become the norm and therefore acceptable?

Remember Mohammad Amir..the 18 year old didn't think spot fixing was a big deal too

The big deal was they are a top Umpire's sons. When Daryl Brown played under another name he was cheating,he was banned before that so he played under a different name.Mohammed's deal wasn't a big deal also, you don't call £500. a big deal.

That's like saying Trump is the most honest american politician. Let's not forget the massacre of the Tamils who were surrendering.
