HEADLINE: 'Shelve the egos for the good of West Indies' - Sammy

CaribbeanCricket.com 2016-05-26 11:14:45

Darren Sammy has called for West Indies' players and administrators to put their "egos" to one side and work for the betterment of the game in the region, as he prepares to return to competitive action for the first time since leading his side to victory in the World T20 at Eden Gardens last month.
Sammy, who has arrived at Hampshire for this season's NatWest T20 Blast, will sit out tomorrow's clash with Middlesex at Uxbridge due to registration issues, and instead make his first outing of the campaign in next Thursday's home match against Kent.
Either way, he will not be making a triumphant homecoming for West Indies during their Tri-Nations Series against South Africa and Australia, which gets underway in Providence on June 3, having been cut from the WICB's list of contracted players back in January.
Sammy defends team-mate GayleDarren Sammy has defended Chris Gayle as an "entertainer" and says his outspoken nature makes him an easy target in the media.
Last week, Gayle revived accusations of sexism with some lewd comments in an interview with The Times. However, Sammy played down the latest row.
"Chris Gayle is the universe boss, a team mate of mine who I admire and respect. I just think people target Chris for no reason.
"To me, Chris is one of our cricketing heroes. He's an entertainer, first, but a lot of people have jumped on his back.

I agree with what Sammy has stated ,
but asking the people in the Worst International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , aka , the WICBC to stifle their Egos , is asking them to stop breathing . It aint going to happen .

People need to fully understand that
the WICBC Members can make FOOLS of themselves because the International Cricket Cabal is always going to have their backs .

Especially at this juncture when the
Members of the ICC has agreed to let
India ; England & Australia get most
of the ICC Profits , under the Leadership of the " Independent "
Chairman Manohar .

Sammy is the last person to be talking
Did he not crossed the picket line, and was made captain, after not being able to make the team, due to his stats?
Please let an honest broker speak, not Sammy.

I recall that Cameron publicly stated
that there was not going to be any victimization , and then he victimized
the Players .

Some of US have exceedingly short memories ; they are likely to say that
I am misinformed ; or that I made this up .

Certain people lived in glass houses, they should keep them mouth shut
Dont get so mouthy after crossing the picket line, and your people pushed you ahead of the pack

Sammy is an opportunist .

I am a Windward Islander but Sammy's undiplomatic outburst at the recent t20 victory ceremony turned me off, and am not ready to forgive him.

And besides, he brings little value to 50/50 and test matches because he's another mediocre player like Bravo who thinks he should be an automatic pick.

I won't be sorry if he never represents West Indies in the future..

I agree with you 100%

His behavior at the T20 championship was an embarrassment and he should never represent the WI again.

Sammy you need to call Gayle out. Stop perpetuating this Universe Boss rubbish....It diminishes you......I generally support you but you are letting yourself down on this.
