From Cricinfo:
What are the WI ranked again?
The ICC is deliberately trying to exclude the WI, while leaving everyone else untouched. Dave & Wavell's work will be complete!

You rather be married to the ugliest model or the prettiest girl next door?
Embrace the turn of events. We can be tier 2 bullies!

naah....new stats have to start....tier 1 test runs or wickets can't be equal to tier 2 runs or wickets....ICC players ranking will change to cater for the tier
In reply to Narper
I think test is test....the stats should be de same...I think WI will be in Tier 1 after SL play their next three series!

You are a very perceptive person . What is truly sad is that Cameron & Co , do not care a Rats Ass if we are in Tier 2
.
THEIR ONLY CONCERN IS HAVING THEIR
89 YEARS OLD STRUCTURE REMAIN AS IS .
This two tier system is to ensure
that India ; Australia & England get
most of the ICC Profits . I am reminded of the adage :
" THERE ARE A LOT OF WAYS
TO SKIN A CAT " .
Chairman Manohar is a very Slick Guy.
Anyone who can resign from being a
Member of the ICC , then declare that
the Chairman of the ICC must be Independent , and then the Lemmings
in the ICC unanimously voted to elect
him as the Chairman of the ICC .
Manohar was voted unanimously to become the Chairman because , they all mistakenly believed that his
deftness ameliorated the Stench created by England ; Australia & India hijacking the lions share of the ICC Profits .
Did you all hear about the Liverpool FC Owner (or some other EPL club American owner) say that Man Utd should ALWAYS automatically qualify for not only the Premier League but the Champions League as well? His reasoning is that people pay more money to see Man Utd than Leicester and that the League will make more money if the Man Utds of the world are in their leagues so everyone benefits more than if its a Cinderella team like Leicester play. Now if Man Utd did indeed fail to qualify for the Champions League you would have heard more on this suggestion. Thats US sports management... who cares about meritocracy!
THE SAME WAY if/when the Australias and the Indians and the British get relegated to Division Two, the ICC/Powers that be will CHANGE the rules, AGAIN, to suit them - either increase the number of teams in Division One. or say the ranking has to take points for the last 3 or 5 years, or something of the sort to maintain THEIR status quo!
My disgust was & is the manner in
which this Grand Charade has unfolded .
One these fine days , the Players from India ; Australia & England will
not be as powerful as they currently are .
I would have thought that one of the 3 would have won the T-20 Tournament
, but that as WE are well aware did not happen .
I have no problem with the top Teams getting more money . However the manner in which the above 3 Countries
set about hijacking most of the profits of the ICC is a colossal disgrace . Frankly it Stinks to High
Heaven .
So some people in England stated , on hearing about this Charade , No thought was given to spreading the
game to other Countries .
That obviously never entered the minds of these Greedy People .They are more interested in getting money
than Spreading the game Worldwide .

Man U did in fact fail to qualify for de Champions League
I think Narper's onto something here. Watch Test rankings/stats get split somehow if this crazy Tier 1/2 thing goes down.
In reply to Tryangle Inevitable. Nobody's counting James Vardy's goals when he was in the Championship division. Life for him began in Premier League. When the premier league first started they used to count stats from what was then the First Division under the classification of "top tier" division.
On the bring side, Lara's record will be safe for decades to come. If the can't bang up on Bang, Zim or even us, no top tier batter is getting close to that 400.
