Currently there are no cricketers in that territory who can make the first team on merit.

Guyana has two directors in the WICB - very, very loyal to Dave. One of them (let's call him Anand, for convenience), who never played cricket but apparently craves public attention, is enjoying "immense" success as the public figure that his position brings.

"Success" for Guyana cricket has now been reduced to furthering Anand's public career. He, in turn, manipulates the first division clubs by handing out favors, such as selecting their players, not depriving them of their rightful financial support, etc.

Now, there are no Guyanese in any of the current men's West Indies teams, but why should Anand care? HE is enjoying great success on the WICB team!

Thank you, Anand, for great work as a WICB director! See? Guyana does have someone on a WI team ...

With their continued success at the regional level one would think that a few of their players would be in the running ... but...?

Didn't know Anand was hugging the spotlight and side tracking the players. As chief of selector Lloyd did not seem to care much too.....

With the low slow pitches that exist in Guyana, it would be unlikely that any exciting batsmen or allrounders would be coming out of there soon ready for ODI.

True. You would expect the Guyana Cricket Board to be concerned about this, and about what this implies about the current state of cricket development in Guyana.
Instead, the GCB cares only about securing the political support of clubs and regional boards. Cricket on the field is merely incidental to cricket politics.
Of course, supporting my assertions above would require a substantial dissertation, but the fact of the matter is that there isn't a single Guyanese on any male WI team.

Your post takes the cake bro, the most asinine comment I have ever read or heard for that matter. Was Bourda ever a fast wicket? It's rhetorical. rolleyes
