Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ales were the start of the destruction of US civility and progressive upward march….to a more egalitarian and democratic society – we may not have gotten there – yet - but the actions and philosophy of those two have certainly stagnated the progress

if you are a rich white man outcast from Australia - you must be very awful human being.

You may be giving Murdoch and Ailes too much credit. The real scumbag who started the loathsome "republican revolution" was Newt Gingrich with his acolytes being the 94 class of Joe Scarborough, Rick Santorium, John Kaisich etc. Good manners and politeness were considered expendable and were the first casualties.

My view is that CNN played a big role in the empowerment of the loathsome one and continued to play a big role until Fox took fact free reporting to its ultimate conclusion.

Well Newt was the one who facilitated legislation that allowed Murdoch to own both print and broadcast media in the same market – The New York Post and Fox TV. … You could be right – but Hannity, O’reilly, Glen Beck and others ----they had no equal on CNN – Fox also became the parking lot for retired right wing Republican Politicians---Palin, Newt, Huckabee….etc

Paul Begala once explained the corrosive benefit CNN provides to Republicans this way.

A Repugnant will declare "The moon is made of green cheese."

CNN reports as follows:

"Republicans and Democrats dispute the composition of the moon." rolleyes
