WI are paying the price

Kurt 2016-07-25 16:20:09

... for not paying the Test players a desirable wage, coupled with an unreasonable selection policy and an antagonistic approach to the players.

Lendl Simmons, DJ Bravo, Jerome Taylor and soon enough Marlon Samuels have all decided that they're better of without the WICB.

This is the team that should be playing India:

K Braffit
L Simmons
D Bravo
M Samuels
DJ Bravo
S Dowrich (WK)
C Braffit
J Holder
J Taylor
S Narine
S Gabriel

and the outcome would have been different?

Kurt 2016-07-25 17:00:42

In reply to sudden

Yes, we wouldn't have lost by an inning for sure. We probably would have avoided the follow-on and we may have even been able to draw the match.

As for Simmons, all I can say is that no one with a FIRST CLASS average of 25, should ever open the batting for the WI. They dropped Ramdin for having that TEST batting average. Granted there's a big difference in experience, but there's a big difference between the requirement of an opener and a WK batsman as well.

At this rate the WICB will be forced to disband or West Indies will end up like Zimbabwe.

DIEHARD 2016-07-25 17:04:51

In reply to sudden

Still a loss. Maybe a chance of a win.

The hallmark of Gayles WI test teams is that they got themselves into positions to win and squandered them.

They lost more sessions than they won. Or just lost one session so egregiously that they couldn't salvage the game.

This current team loses every session of play

The Players are not properly paid , because the WICB & the Regional Boards
are loaded with Deadweights , who are syphoning off money that could be used
to make our Players more competitive .

Let once again state a fact that absolutely no ONE in the Region can deny .

THE STANDARD OF CRICKET IN THE REGION

' PARTICULARLY IN THE LONGER VERSIONS

OF THE GAME , ARE NOT ONLY PISS POOR;

IT IS BELOW WHAT IS REQUIRED AGAINST

TEAMS RANKED ABOVE OUR TEAM . IN THE

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET ARENA .

The price the WICB is paying, is not having players ready to replace the likes of Bravo, Gayle and others,
Where is the A or the U-19 team playing?
This to me is more important than a Dwayne Bravo or Simmons playing a format that they are not good at.

I can always count on you for being a naturalist... You keep doing good at U19 and when your players reach international level, their talent is worse than them at U19:::

Frankly it is worse than being embarrassing , it is a Colossal Disgrace . However Cameron & Co just do not give a Damn .

They are getting money from the International Cricket Cabal , and as long as their Security Blanket , the
current 1927 Structure is intact , they are very happy .

When they play international U19, what format of the game is typically played? Anything longer than 50 overs?

Bang on. You can't manage established players and you can't develop players. What you end up with is a bunch of guys like the ones we had in last test where they are still learning.

Just like Bravo and Samuels after 40 and 90 odd matches respectfully are still learning on the job and are not able to take the lead role and Samuels

It give the youngster the opportunity to play against others.
A number of U-19 in various parts, are juniors at many county or sheild clubs, these youngsters are brought up in a professional organization.

I'll ask again.

When they play international cricket at U19 level, what format is generally played?

Simple question.

The format is usually 50 overs, a couple U-19 test where played during Kraigg's time, both he and Anthony scored tons at that level.
BTW, Kraigg scored three tons against the Aussies U-19.

Why the talk done? Did de likes of Lara and Hooper played enough U19 tests to judge their Test growth?

Say all you want de so called senior batsmen in dis WI team are just a bunch of Fcuking overhyped idiols of their insular country thinking man. cool

Slipfeeler 2016-07-25 19:20:10

In reply to Kurt

The decline of WI test cricket performance is mostly due to the lack of development of young players into consistent performers and reluctance of Selectors to include experience players much to the embarrassment of test cricket fans in the region. Also the rediculousness of hosting a test match against a highly ranked team during CPL tournament.

POINT 2016-07-25 19:33:00

In reply to Drapsey

This possibly may be the first time that I have expressed this opinion.
But I have held this opinion for a long time .

The question that people need to ask the WICBC & the Members of the Regional Boards is this :

WHAT PRECISELY HAVE YOU DONE OR

INTEND DOING TO MAKE OUR PLAYERS

FULLY COMPETITIVE IN THE

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET ARENA ????

However , the ICC a Corrupt Entity seemingly encourages the WICBC to also be Corrupt . What is needed in
my opinion , is a certain sum of money must be devoted to the improvement of Cricket in the Region .
Secrecy is the milk of honey that the
WICBC thrives on . That is because it
is not mandated to let in sunlight ;
regarding its Finances .

It sure is not getting Pennies from
Digicel , the ICC ; TV Rights etc . It has not even disclosed who all are
on its Payroll .

I have absolutely no doubt , that
England ; Australia & India are still
getting most of the International Cricket Cabal Profits .

That move to have Manahan the Chairman of the ICC unanimously; more than likely ensured the approval the heist engineered by England ; Australia & India .
India

In reply to Kurt

They are also paying the price for not forming ; at the height of our Teams & Players dominance in the International
Cricket Arena , a Regional Pro or Semi Pro League .

As I have continuously stated in this
forum , the Members of the Worst International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , aka the WICBC , sat on their Asses , and did absolutely
NOTHING .

Obviously These collective Simpletons
, never ever thought of having a
Pro or Semi Pro league when it was
very favourable to do that , since
they could have got many Financial Sponsors .

History informs us that 3 or 4 years ago it finally dawned on the Dimwits
that they should have a Pro League .
The Problem is however , that our
Players & Team in the longer formats of the game are at or near the bottom .

SPONSORS DO NOT GENERALLY ASSOCIATE

THEIR BRANDS WITH TEAMS AT OR NEAR

THE BOTTOM .

Frankly the Boat has already sailed .
When they could have had Sponsors eager to associate with Our Players
& Team to assist financially in having a Pro or Semi Pro League . The
Members of the WICBC did NOTHING .
