Steve Waugh On Test Cricket
Test cricket is dying. T20 has taken over in the Caribbean, no turning back now.
In reply to Runs
Polly available; they say he not good enough
Gayle available; they say not qualified
Bravo not qualified
Simmo forced to retire
SARS same ting
Them send Shivers to the knacker's yard
We pursuing Chase, Hope and Chandrika
Tell Steven Waugh go jump in a croc infested lake
In reply to Halliwell
Agreed....
All this self-righteous, well-paid Aussie Test players chatting shite....
Thank God for T20 cricket and the CPL!
U facting fools, the man's correct in his assessment of WI cricket.
maybe is the fool who thinks others a fool ...
Steve Waugh is a piece of work. Australia is a Big 3 member, gets the lion's share of revenue, of course their players can pick and choose where and when to play. The Ashes is a sacred event, yadda yadda yadda. Besides, he has no love for West Indies.
In reply to Tryangle My good man...dem aussies have a luvhate relationship with WI! They admire WI cricketing skills n luv a challenge from us, but then at d same time, don't like WI, done.
In reply to don1
You won't have T20 without four or five day cricket- T20 on it's own won't produce any bowlers.
In reply to Tryangle
Interesting!!!
If you do a poll right now in the West Indies you will find that maybe 90% of our own don't have any love for WI cricket...
In reply to Kay... but do they love cricket?
In reply to Tryangle
Have you seen attendances for test matches in Australia? You lot profess lots of MB love for test cricket..that's all!
In reply to Halliwell
did Gayle, bravo,Pollard and Sars ever played for the WI before or together, and where were the WI rank, let me guess 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, 6 7.
If our better players only play our regional T20 then it stands to reason dat the other formats are goimg to suffer. We must find a way of getting them to play a few matches in the other formats so that the standards can improve.
De WI is the only country where de best players only play in one format in the game.
Sponsorship is also dependant on the availability of big name players so we must find a way to get them to play regionally without unduly restricting their ability to earn a living.
In reply to Maispwi
Even if the WICB tinker with the regional schedule this will not happen since the reward will not be worth the risk to these players. Which of those will want to play 4 day cricket for peanuts while risking physical fitness and injuries?
Unless of course the $ match what they earn in the big leagues....

Say it again natty !
In reply to tc1
I'm glad you brought that up; having said that then do the comments about WIndians 'choosing' t20 over Tests grate even more nonsensical?
