At the Lausanne Diamond League meet last night, Jamaican Asafa Powell won the men's 100m in a time of 9.96, to finish ahead of BY Meite of the Ivory Coast (10.01), and Britain's Joel Fearon (10.05).

The women's equivalent was won by another Jamaican, Elaine Thompson, in 10.78, finishing ahead of Americans Jenna Prandini (11.11) and Morolake Akinosun (11.16), with Desiree Henry of Britain coming fourth in 11.17.

Spain's Orlando Ortega won the 110m hurdles in 13.11, just ahead of Jamaican Omar McLeod (13.12).
