The historic T20 match between West Indies and India in Florida has just proven us correct in our prediction for that venue and market. For about a year I have been begging the WICB to take advantage of the lucrative, cricket hungry market in Florida and New York by sending various teams to play warm-up and practice matches there.
I previously proposed that this would be perfect setting for an A-team, so as to provide much needed international exposure and experience to our many young talented cricketers who sadly need much match practice. The added bonus of these venues would be that they practically paid for themselves, gate receipts and broadcast would more than adequately pay for the team travel, housing, cost of venue and other incidental cost, and potentially result in some profitability to the WICB.
I am sure the Indian promotors and investors are just excited about that market and could dominate the market while we are left languishing behind. WICB please act now!

It does not matter if the ground is full or empty.. The ground I would say is about 70% full. Maybe skunts drank too much last night and passed out.. TV rights are the key... So chill and Watch...

how come they were declaring that it was sold out within hours?? bunch of crooks!!
In reply to googley
Well, that part i dont know. Maybe they did and skunts did not show up.. Who knows..
The temporary bleachers are really hot.. so maybe guys decided not to come in..

My point exactly that this is a very lucrative market for WI Cricket Investors and promotors, even individual island cricket boards could take advantage of the market if the WICB continues to procrastinate.

but WICB too dumb to mek it work. Dem need farin fe do it for them
The tickets were sold ... who cares if the ticket holders have other things to do
In reply to gvenkat

Fair call and did you all really think India will go home 0-2
?? Not happening..

Wouldn't it be ironic if the "technical glitch" that affected TV broadcast when the sun was shining meant that five overs weren't bowled in the second innings to make this a match?
Told you all before!!!
FORT LAUDERDALE, USA (AFP) India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni wants more matches in the United States despite a chaotic Twenty20 clash against the West Indies yesterday ending in a rain-hit no result.
Heavy rain forced the game at the Central Broward Regional Park to be abandoned, with India well-placed on 15-0 off two overs in pursuit of a modest 144-run target.
Well, I went both days and had to settle for tickets in the Bleachers/Mound stand. I tried to purchase tickets for either grandstand within hours after tickets went on sale and I was told that all those tickets are sold out. Obviously they were not sold out because I went on the same site last Friday and there were tickets available for those stands but I had already purchased tickets for 8 folks for both days and did not want to threw away those and get grandstand tickets at that time, (I was not going to sell the mound tickets and risk getting into any trouble)
Another issue was the long line to get in the ground on Saturday until they opened up a second line. Not sure if this was same for the Grand Stand. The ground/outfield is real nice though until the rain came. I will go back if cricket is played there although we had to fly there and rain spoiled the second game.

I don't blame them - go all the way to the other side of the world and play in front of a 'home crowd' too?

BCCI is large and in charge!! Didn't i tell you some crookery was at work. Why you think a scalping website was setup weeks in advance before tickets were on sale!
I have a feeling the prices for any future BCCI event will drop but the prices for next year's CPL (at this ground) will go up.
