captain conferring with the real captain

Braithwaite is no captain. We all know that.

West Indies cannot go back on top with the same assness they are displaying.
How could the WICB recommend a guy who has less than 10 matches under his belt and no experience as a captain to lead your team ?
Isn't that assness?
Pollard should be captain of this 20/ 20 team and all of you know that.
WI will not climb the proverbial ladder with its current management in place because their minds and deeds are too black.
Not color but darkness.
When they the management start thinking about the peoples and without creed, color, ethnic makeup or island birth but purely on merit then and only then we will see unity. Until then the assness should be directed at the WICB and their boy Browne and co.

Rookie captain Carlos consulting with senior players on important decisions. Signs of the making of a good leader to me.

I wish the other snot-nosed one had a similar disposition.

Agree and disagree.

Polly meeting him and consulting shows togetherness.
During the first ame he did show up as being unable to "do" something.
He did look lost for awhile.
Even in the short India innings yesterday he was unable to cut off the singles.
Just like Holder it will take time.
However I see it as a slap in the face of all of us to put someone knowing there are much better options in a position as captain of the West Indies.
We are immediately sent back to "rebuilding" stage.

In reply to rillo Well....a leadership tenet is to know your strengths and weaknesses. So, consulting with Polly just shows CB is humble, malleable, `I can use the input from a bloke who has captained a team(s) before`....pleez, those of us who don't like this appointment shouldn't ,`get wrapped around the axle`, as the saying goes in the US army!

A good manager isn't the best at everything. He knows how to use his resources to his advantage. When you have Polly and Johnny in your team you use their knowledge to your advantage.

I remember a test match when Sammy now took over, Bishoo was bowling over the wicket with no luck. Sarwan went up to Bishoo and told him to try around the wicket. Sammy then immediately went up and change back Bishoo to over the wicket.

I remember that incident well! Had to show who was the new boss in town, lest there be any confusion.

Anyway kudos to our former captain, Sammy, our 2-time T20 World Cup winning skipper.

Over the weekend, he played the identical role, and made the same pivotal contribution, in our series victory over against India, as he did in us winning those two T20 titles!

AGAIN, KUDOS TO OUR FORMER CAPTAIN!

In much the same way Gayle won the two world cups. They both contributed immensely to the latest series win in Florida.

AGAIN, KUDOS TO DON GAYLE.

You fool.

Only a jackass would compare a Sammy to a Gayle!

Then, again check the source. No surprise there! big grin

There is a reason why a Volkswagon would compare itself to a rollsroyce but you would never hear of a rollsroyce comparing itself to a volkswagon!!

Thanks for that line.

Now that explains why some peeps are obsessed with anything Jamaican.

You jackass, who is doing the comparison?...certainly not me. You are too foolish and obsessively preoccupied with Sammy to see where I am heading with this.

Logic 2016-08-29 15:26:53

In reply to rillo Pollard is a smart tactician but captaincy aint just about tactics. Pollard's overall leadership of Tridents suggests he has his own flaws he needs to address if he is to be a leader and not jusy a tactician.

If Brathwaite continues to embrace tactical input from his colleagues he will grow into an excellent captain.

Yeah...so you felt it spratty?

So true The Sammy PIVOTAL inspiration could be felt. He wasn't there, it was as if he was there.

Still his team...the World Champions.

What a legacy eeh?

Captainceeeeeeeeee forever.

I agree. But why appoint a raw rookie when you have someone more advanced and with experience and with victory and in your own backyard who has a proven record to go with someone who has no experience at all . I still find that real strange.
Polly should have been the captain and IF you like the kid so much make him VC. not how him to the wolves.
Dhoni and more experienced captains will eat us raw.

Raggs 2016-08-30 13:49:29

In reply to rillo

I agree Pollard should be the skipper but if Braithwaite uses Pollard's knowlege and listens to the others and pick sense out of nonsense then he will be fine.
He is so far proven to be a lucky captain and that gift is better than being a great tactician

rillo 2016-08-30 14:00:15

In reply to Raggs

Why should we be in the position of learn as you go when we have men who can do the job?
WICB and its protege Selectors are foolish if they think teams will lay down because we have apprentice captains.
We are not showing the cricketing world that we r serious in climbing the ladders of various formats so we r being given shitty tours.

Lloyd started this shyte by picking Holder as a captain when the kid as good as he is is raw and is now being exposed for what he is.
