JEFF Dujon, the former West Indies wicketkeeper, has said it would be a “terrible embarrassment” if West Indies were unable to qualify automatically for the 2019 World Cup.West Indies are currently jostling with Pakistan for the final automatic qualification spot in the one-day rankings ahead of the series in UAE, which starts tomorrow.
If Pakistan can repeat their 3-0 scoreline from the T20 series in the ODIs, they will jump ahead of West Indies into eighth place.
The cut-off for qualification is September 30, 2017, with the ODI nations who sit outside the top eight then joining the qualifying tournament which is currently scheduled to take place in Bangladesh.
West Indies missed out on a place in next year’s Champions Trophy after being pipped for the final berth by Pakistan and Bangladesh.
“It would be a terrible embarrassment for West Indies to not automatically qualify,” Dujon, who played in the 1983 and 1987 World Cups, told ESPNcricinfo. “It would be damaging for any team who have tasted what it’s like to be in the top echelon of world cricket.
“As someone who played in a very successful era, it’s very embarrassing but it has to be an indication of exactly where we are at and something needs to be done. It hurts.

In my opinion , after years of the total INCOMPETENCE of the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC .

WE are acclimatized & and accustomed
to being embarrassed ; in essence WE
are now completely immune from being embarrassed by what those in the governance of Cricket in the Region do.

It is very obvious that the International Cricket Cabal , aka the
ICC approves of what the WICBC has done & is doing .

The only people who get embarrassed are de few fans today and the players from the past glory days

Dujon hit dis panic button lil too early...September 30th 2017 is a year away...all Pakistan and WI need to do is mek sure they get ahead of Bangla and stay there...England will sweep de Bangla bwoys and start their slide!!!

Exactly. West Indian cricket has practically no fan base, except West Indians over 50 who live overseas and a few old West Indians at home.
In fact, The Antiguan government recently announced that baseball will be introduced as 10 or 15 teams are coming in next year for a Little League tournament. Obviously for that to happen some of the cricket fields will have to be converted to baseball diamonds. There is a baseball little league team in Antigua made up of Hispanics.

Baseball is the WORST game in the world

I found it very embarrassing that Our
Team aint going to the 2917 World Cup.
WE no doubt are getting immune to being embarrassed in International Cricket .
