Teams in the 2017 Pakistan Super League are in the hunt for players, and there is no doubt that St. Lucias Daren Sammy will be featured in the tournament scheduled to bowl off in February 2017. Speculation is rife that the Two time World Cup winning captain is poised to captain yet another International Club T20 team! The former West Indies captain left St. Lucia for Dubai on Sunday to participate in yet another draft process.
In his cricket career Sammy has played for a number of world renowned teams. These included: Glamorgan, Hobart Hurricanes, Nottinghamshire, Royal Challengers Bangalore, The Stanford Superstars, the Sunrisers Hyderabad among others.
But, last year, Sammy had a huge impact in Pakistan with Peshawar Zalmi. The team participating in the inaugural competition lost the semi final by just one run despite Sammys brilliant efforts. So much so that owners of the team offered the St. Lucian Citizenship. While this never materialized, Sammy is expected to be picked by the team and asked to be captain! An official announcement is expected later.
