Otto now a hurricane
Praying for my loved ones in Costa Rica.
Volcanos...no problem...earthquakes... no worries. rain and flooding...all the time
They don't anything about about 70 mph wind. I suspect the impact may be terrible even though the storm is not that strong.

Looking more like South-Eastern Nicaragua now - as a TS - will cause serious flooding (even in the Yard).
By the way it's the latest ever Atlantic/Caribbean hurricane. The season is supposed to end next week. Remember we had the earliest hurricane and the latest this year - plus the gigantic Matthew.

Knowing the Costa Ricans they like the Jamaicans will speak about La mano de Dios covering Costa Rica to explain why Hurricanes never hit them. The truth is that their main rainy season coincides with our Summer and lasts till about October. Even though they suffer constant flooding, their rainy season keeps away the Hurricanes.

Wow! None of the Southern Central American states is prepared for a storm like Otto.
I remember a few years back a storm parked over El Salvador for few days filled a volcano which overflowed and caused some serious damage and loss of life.
