English County Cricket is overrated!

WestDem 2016-11-22 17:48:42

Case in point.... check out their seasoned campaigner Chesney Hughes how he continues to crap up in our Regionals?

Not just this current season, check his LI stats.. cool

Maybe the VOR factor has something to do with it.

While playing on the English County circuit, VOR is not such an ardent fan.

In England the ball seams. In the west Indies the ball spins. It's an adjustment he must make

I am not worried about Chesney he will come good. Good point re the adjustment that is required. I suspect some of the pitches are slower than what he is used to.

Its a fact that its easier for batsmen to score runs in county cricket than it is for them in regional cricket.

A spinner from Jamaica played county cricket for over a decade, he was on vacation when he came home and played for Jamaica.
Hughes reminds me of him

This is an assertion based on limited data...ask someone who has played both like Ottis.

Why should I ask Otis when Sir Viv is right there? He can tell from experience.. most recent ones in luxe Sarwan he was given Captainy. Roti belly is said to be de fittest fast bowler in England lol lol

English?

Even in county cricket Chesney under-performed. They "could not agree terms". That's code for saying the county didn't think it was worth keeping him.
cool

I expected more.

A ton or two would have given him a change in the senior team...primarily based on his English exposure

He is showing signs. Why you guys starting these thread so prematurely and the first half of the season is not even complete?

Not even the English County experience can make Chesney Hughes, an average regional batsman.
He is piss poor.

WestDem 2016-12-12 21:24:40

In reply to openning

He is de worst of all our middle order batsmen around, he cannot score better than his age! cool lol

A Yardie spinner played County cricket for years, he was out bowled by all regional spinners, during tournaments.
Dem Yardies must have told him, to stay in England.
The Leewards should do the same to Hughes.

lol lol
