Prince Harry in Grenada at "my" hotel
In reply to Yamfoot
Isn't that suppose to be a secret?
In reply to Yamfoot
Dude seems to be a cool chap
Kinda reminds me of the photos I'll see with his mother.
The way he deals with kids and so, he'll come down to their level and speak to them you know.
Hope that in 2016 that we not pompasetting about "royalty", who via birth live entitled lives off the backs of our forefathers.
With all due respect to the "prince", what has he or his generations of family do for the Caribbean again???
Hope he have a real nice swim in dem beautiful Grenada beaches.
(sorry Yammy, I know you only like it sweet and simple threads.. with none of this ... but Prince Harry?)
In reply to Yamfoot
My understanding is that he was supposed to sleep on the Boat he is travelling in the Region .
However the boat broke down in Kingstown , St. Vincent , and they spent a night trying to fix the boat .
In the mean time a Plane was chartered to take him to Grenada from St. Vincent ;and also book hotel Rooms in Grenada .He seems to be a
an amiable Chap . In St. Vincent he
mingled about the people .

Nice..!!! Sir Royston seems to be aging well..!!! I guess only a Prnce would be able to get a room at Spice Isle Beach Resort on such short notice, especially during this season!!!
In reply to Yamfoot
Use the opportunity to create a royal scandal.
The only thing I want to know is if Rachael Zane from Suits is there with him.

I still can't for the life of me understand why people (especially those of colour) are so enarmoured and entranced with these freeloaders. Your post summed it up nicely. These people add nothing to the benefit of society. They are the antithesis of meritocracy. They live a life of luxury, pomposity and celebrity on the backs of working class people. And yet, working peoples the world over see them as worthy of adulation and respect.
Is this the cult of monarchy? The idea that there a part of our primordial brains which still yearns for an Alpha male/female for protection and tribal identification?

have you ever seen Yamfoot post anything that would otherwise surprise you about this?
In reply to camos
My post wasn't aimed at Yammy.
But it grinds my gears every time I see those royal freeloaders prancing around the Caribbean and our heroes and political leaders pander and supplicate before them like little children.

Side note:
After a certain age, you either get it or you don't. For many of a certain generation - genuflecting to the crown is a mark of respect and cordiality. Nothing more. But leave that to politicians. No right thinking Caribbean person should embrace euro "royalty".
Respectfully, darling Yammy don't really get into all dat.... deary jus want a nice lickle thread about her hotel having such a standard - that it is fit for a .... (lawd me can't say it)
we does get it yuh har dodo yammy: congrats

I hear ya man.
But it seems to me that since the period of independence from the British, our collective intellectual psyche in the Caribbean has become dull. I fear we will never see intellectual and political giants from the Caribbean like Manley, Rodney, or Castro again.

"Respectfully, darling Yammy don't really get into all dat.... deary jus want a nice lickle thread about her hotel having such a standard - that it is fit for a .... (lawd me can't say it) "
Correct. People thought I would have rushed over there. Nope. I went home. A few years ago I was in the suite when Prince Edward and Sofie walked in (I had carried a team member to clear a tray and didnt get out in time). They came in, said hello like regular people, the Sofie went to call her pickneys...just like regular folks.
Was there for Princess Anne. Cheeky bugger gave her security the slip and went walking on the veach early morning. Simple requirements she had. Them not fussy people.

booom!!!
In reply to Yamfoot
Why should anyone be excited about that?
In reply to Wally-1
from a marketing point of view it is an endorsement so good for the brand, but I can't understand why from a security point of view, why the lady would make the announcement while he is there.
Innocently unaware. Innocence that is near but not exactly naivety. Never entered the mind (prior to posting) that:
a. Royalty plundered the global and never have to "work" again for indefinite generations.
b. The devastating and lasting impact said plundering had on nations.
c. You feel special, they go in their room privately and use hand sanitizer.
an interesting thread.
I am no fan of the British monarchy but Harry us visiting as an emissary of the British government and ao should be accorded the same level of courtesy that would be accorded a rep of the U.S. government.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Fuzzy, they are.
Considering and compare their history, then our long documented courtesy/civility/respect/automatic honor to the Crown granted by every (non Republic) Caribbean nation.
There is no evidence to support any claim that Caribbean people are anything but courteous to our former colonial masters. This is about the maturation of our own psyche. We are exceptionally respectful to the global powers that be, as a region.
We have no choice politically, but individually....
In reply to pelon
Please explain then why there's this reluctance to go republican, replace tge privycouncil with CCJ.
In reply to pelon
Silly people are easily awed by these folks, they take a sh!t in the bathroom just like me and you and leave the occasional sh!t stain on their underwear just like you.
In reply to black
@fuzzy: which is a quantum leap from your original matter of respect.
In reply to camos
It was all over the news. It was not a secret.
In reply to Yamfoot

I saw him in T.O sporting with her at Casaloma...
In reply to pelon
We haven't grownup and grown out of colonialism.
My take on it anyways.
In reply to SnoopDog
Tell that to the cooperative republic of Guyana where Harry was last spotted
