Westworld Season 1 on HBO
In reply to cricketmygame
I want to catch this, I caught part of an episode two weeks ago, so hopefully HBO will get a marathon at some point where I can really get into it.
With Game of Thrones due to conclude soon, it's a good time for HBO to have a new powerhouse series in the wings.

Is that the show based on the Yul Brynner movie from the 70s?

Yeah, that's about par for most HBO series, so makes sense. Just feels like it started the other week. I really do want to watch it though, have heard many great things and there's no shortage of acclaimed actors in the series
Saw the first 2 episodes...great. There is a movie with Yul Brynner by the same name with a similar plot.

the first few episodes are really boring but it builds the story line for the later episodes

Written by Michael Crichton, the writer of novels Jurassic Park and Rising Sun, which were also turned into films. Actually quite a few of his other books were adapted into films.

I actually don't mind world-building episodes, just have to avoid overkill.
