Where is your Leeward Island all time X1 to oppose Barbados?

The U-19 squad could do with being allowed a couple of experienced players to have around for the competition.

robbo 2016-12-06 11:36:54

How many quick bowlers in that squad ?.... Pemberton from Leewards ...is Alleyne from Trinidad a quick bowling all rounder ?...can't think of anyone else ?... seems very light on pace bowling to me.

Reverse discrimination? Due to Yardie heading WIBC so JA only got one pick? Compensatory irony? Just thinking out aloud folks!

This makes no sense--Only one player from Jamaica? NTM, the worst teams LI & WWI whether at the junior level or the senior level and they have several picks?? Makes no sense.

rolleyes

It's not as simple as that. In the 3 day tournament last U19, Jamaica only had 3 players of note. Royal who was brilliant all round. Jordan Hill who got starts but clearly there were a number of better openers during the tournament. The other player of note was Michael Frew who can't go up for selection because of age.

So, basically that's why its down to Jeavor Royal alone.

Do you know if any of the players from the last WC is not included in these trials?

Think all of them bar Kallicharan and Emmanuel Stewart are pass the age limit, so no, don't think so.

Is only players eligible to play in 2018 dat get call up. Outstanding players from next year's Regional will get called up before a final squad is selected for early 2018

TheTrail 2016-12-10 15:32:25

Please keep those U19 boys away from those alleged ...

No, Royal is the left arm finger spin all rounder. Gives it a good wack with the bat. Will be a vital #7 in windies armory into the world cup. By far the most impressive all rounder in the last U19 tournament.

The two Guyanese players are U17 not sure about the others..

Joshua Persaud was the best wicketkeeper/batsman in the last tournament.. and I think Yadram was the best batsman for Guyana ...
