Progressive minds in the region scare the WICB

and as a result the on-field product continue to decline. Their inability to negotiate is glaring and they refuse to contract someone to negotiate on their behalf. Old dogs are learning new tricks everywhere except in the Caribbean and as a result we have the following:

1. Mandates and recommendations from ordered reports not being followed.

2.Regional TV stations not covering the games live. I don't know if we fully understand how unforgivable this is.

3.The failure to attract local sponsors. I mean! there are novices in their fields attracting local sponsors in the Caribbean and all over the world. All you have to do is show them a plan that excites them.

4.Their most sought after players are barred from representing them.

5.Rising stars are in continual disputes with the board over their policies.

The board is practically dysfunctional.

Look I have been stating in this Forum for over a decade that the WICBC needed to undergo serious structural Reforms .

Many here were & are critical of what I stated & state , but that did not faze me ; because I have always believed & still believe that the
main obstacle regarding Cricket in the Region , is the fact that those in the governance of Cricket in the Region , like their current 87 years old , because it has no mention on
Competence ; Transparency or Accountability .

In essence the people in the WICBC have done & can do anything that they
want within the parameters of the
current Structure ; simply because
its 1929 Structure is vague on Competence ; Transparency ; Accountability & are essentially their own Bosses .

Change in my opinion has to start first at the TOP .Once that is done
then WE can deal with the Players ,
who for the most part are unhappy
with the WICBC . It aint really complicated , but it is necessary to
have Serious Structural changes in the Regional Boards & the WICBC .

Well WE have been waiting for that to happen for quite sometime . There are
from my perspective 4 main Reasons .

1. The first is that the current 87 years old structure says nothing about
Transparency & Accountability .

2. The International Cricket Cabal
bluntly refuses to insist that the WICBC exercises Good Governance . Sadly , both the WICBC & the ICC are
more interested in Self Preservation
than exercising Good Governance .

3. THE WICBC is always infallible to
Most of the Members in the Sports Media . who prefer to target Players
for criticism while saying little or
nothing regarding the Incompetence &
Maladministration of the WICBC .

4. The Regional Governments are not fully united in dealing with the WICBC . It must be noted that the WICBC has its Headquarters in Antigua
and is also buying Stanford's Cricket
Ground . Obviously the Government of
Antigua going to agree to Restructuring the WICBC .

My take is that both the WICBC & the
ICC ; should be taken to Court to explain why both of them are more
interested in Self Preservation than
ensuring Good Governance , particularly in this Region .

Generally when I call them Lackeys , they do not respond , perhaps they
realize that by being critical of what
I state reinforcing the fact that they
are indeed Lackeys of the WICBC .

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

I deal in facts , not fiction , therefore if they respond , obviously
the first thing I will state is that
the relish defending the indefensible .
