It would be good to see Shiv as the batting coach, and help the youngsters in Guyana.

Should Shiv give way to Tage?
In reply to openning
No.
as long as Shiv can walk, he should play so that a section of the mudlands can say that he was discriminated and force to play in the regionals and he is still the best batsman in the world
In reply to tc1
If opening thread was idiotic, your post took de crown for being a porno pssuy!
In reply to WestDem
As long as Shiv is around...the bajan 'stars' will look mediocre.
Dese bajans hate it
When is de ole ass really retiring...dem fretting
In reply to Narper
Keep getting bowl out for 69 and 137.
Allyuh still need a Master in the X1 or someone that can work with youngsters, 24/7?
The young Bajans not the finish product, but all of them have regional tons and learning every season.
In reply to openning
Ent rain save alyuh...otherwise a 68 was coming up
In reply to Narper
An experience Guyanese, did not see it that way.
Brooks, Chase, Dowrich, Carter and Stoute, thats all.
That is a silly question. Why should he give way to Tage? He adds more value than Tage. Furthermore, it's not like they are both wicket keepers.
In reply to WestDem
shoite, have you seen the postings from the Shivites, and your attack on openning
In reply to Narper
the only bowler the muddies has is Reifer, and those boys give him 2 wks
In reply to tc1
You are as pathetic as opening
In reply to anandgb
Stop the BS, you guys cry every day about Shiv, shiv is the best , shiv can still bat..., shiv can still field..., shiv can still poke, Shiv is only 42, he can still bat better than X Y Z.
life exist after cricket When Lara moved on he was still on top.
What so pathetic with opening statement ?
In reply to tc1
Questioning a 42 years old cricketer playing status, seem to upset more Guyanese than the total rest of the region fans.
Why?
In reply to openning
Two Guyanese posters commented on his behavior, many seems to think that he should play forever.
I think it's time for Shiv to leave the game, and he should consider serving Guyana and West Indies cricket in some other capacity.
What is more disappointing than Shiv hanging on, is the fact that Barbados allowed a 42-year old man to score a century against them.
In reply to openning
Shiv should play...the youngsters should learn from playing with him, in the middle.
As Joe Grine pointed out on another thread, the best innings Blackwood ever played was with Shiv at the other end.
In reply to mikesiva
Dude, after 20 years playing with youngsters, where is the team standings, and how many players, actually learned from him or BCL?
The only youngsters that breath Shiv are Kraigg and Singh.
Why does it bother bajans so much that Shiv continues to play for Guyana.
Isn't it because it makes the bajan big 30something averagers look bad?
In reply to Narper
That 30something averager, maybe the best in the region.
In reply to Devin
At what age did you retire? Age is just a number. Why should anyone retire at the young age of 42 when they can still contribute?
Just 1 question. Who has the most runs for Guyana for this CPL tournament thus far?
In reply to tops
Who has a ton against Bim bad ass TEST attack?
Andrew Mason was ketching fits as it unfolded
In reply to Narper
Mason always ketching fits over something. Remember him begging for Tino to make the west indies test team...what a joke...rrr
In reply to Devin
Guess Pakistan should follow your WI thinking and retire a performing Misbah using your analogy.
In reply to bobby
Because it's nice to leave on a high rather than being forced out. I may be Shiv's most ardent supporter on this board, but even I can admit that his love for the game clouds his judgment.
In reply to Runs
Test and FC are a little different. FC is a time when a youngster is learning on the job, there is still some nurturing required.
In Tests you want someone as close to the finished article as you can get.
Shiv thinks he can play forever.
In reply to Devin
Shiv may truly feel so but in the end it is up to the selectors to decide his value
In reply to Devin
I know u r a Shiv supporter, but the title of this thread is:
"Should Shiv give way to Tage?"
Talking of 1st class.
My question is still. Who has the most runs for Guyana in this year's CPL.
& btw, I'm not yet addressing the value of the runs for the team... and how the team would a do without those innings, holding up the batting etc.
In reply to tops
What if he's 45 and still has the most runs? How do we know a youth can't walk into the team and do the same, or better?
Is Shiv playing to help Guyana cricket or is he playing because he wants a recall?
The young Guyanese batsmen will learn a lot from playing with Shiv. Batting with him, and talking with him. They will learn the value of preserving one's wicket, how to assess the bowlers andpitches. Opposing players have to work to get Shiv out, that is a learning experience for them. If Tage wants a play, he needs to kick the door down. When selected, he needs to score runs.

Shiv is occupying only ONE batting spot in the team. There is a place for any youth who is knocking on the door loud enough.
Shis is doing better than all the other middle order batsmen in the team...you want to give a youth a chance....drop any one of them inconsistent ones in the middle
If Shiv is 60 years old....and still wants to play and is fit enough to play.....and doing better than the others...then I say play him
Shiv ...a middle order batsman is NOT keeping out Tage...an opening batsman.
If anything...it's Chandrika ...a consistent failure at the highest level....an inconsistent performer at the FC level....who should make way for Tage
In reply to Narper
Xactly!

"Is Shiv playing to help Guyana cricket or is he playing because he wants a recall?"
There was an article I read when Shiv talked of advising the others while batting with them. He mentioned once while batting with Reefer, someone was bowling short and he, Reefer, was ducking. Shiv called him down and said: "Raymond, stand up and play the ball. After that, R R was ok. If I find the article I will post it.
