Banned for life.

doublecentury 2016-12-13 21:31:29

Media Statement from:
Chief Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, Mr. Suruj Ragoonath

“The WICB has invited Darren Bravo to a meeting. We expect that a determination will be made concerning his selection for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and the West Indies teams following this meeting. Until the matter has been resolved and the parties have agreed on a position, Mr Bravo would not be allowed to participate in the current Regional Digicel 4-Day, nor would he be eligible for selection for the West Indies. The WICB awaits a response from Mr Bravo regarding the meeting invitation.”

So if bravo does not wish to meet and eat humble pie he will effectively be banned for life for the big idiot tweet, following the appropriate disciplinary process of course.

POINT 2016-12-13 22:09:14

I suspect that before any talk about
being banned for life ; there very likely will be a Court Case .

I do not think that Bravo is currently quaking in his boots by the utterances
of the Trinidad Cricket Board , or the
Emperors in the WICBC .

My take is that Bravo & his Lawyer
are going to have a meeting regarding
both the WICBC & the Trinidad &
Tobago Cricket Board ; regarding the way forward for Bravo .

I am interested in whether if he is
banned , that means that he cannot
ply his trade Internationally & whether if that is the case , that decision can be challenged in Court .

Two salient points to note here.

1. The WICB reached out to him to provide counselling.
2. This is the second time the T&T board are requesting meetings.

Do yoiu think they are doing this for fun?

These actions can mitigate against any lawsuit claims against the boards.

Bravo is taking poor advice.

What sort of process was followed before Bravo was dismissed from the Zim tour?

Disagree totally
His advice seems to be sensible, calculated and careful with respect to his legal strategy

Bravo has a lawyer advising him.

Since WIPA seems to be totally out of the picture,Bravo must insist his lawyer be present at any meeting(s).

In that case Bravo could have his "bread" well buttered! big grin

In reply to Halliwell Can some one explain to me, why does the WICB, interfere into the the TT cricket board. I thought both boards was independent of each other?

Khaga 2016-12-14 10:38:41

In reply to VIX

I don't think it's indifference. I think Tits are meek and subservient. When the great Sri Brian Lara decided to stand with Sri Chris Gayle and Sri Sarwan and went ahead with missing a test, Tits were awfully quiet.
Tits didn't do much to support Sri Brian Lara in his many battles with the WICB.

If such treatment had been meted to any Bajan (let alone Sri Sobers), Bajans would have boycotted WI cricket and gone it alone.

POINT 2016-12-14 10:51:09

In reply to uton

You have precisely stated the point .

SENDING HOME ANY PLAYER FROM A TOUR

IN MY OPINION DEMANDS A FAIR HEARING

GIVEN TO THE PLAYER THAT IS BEING

SENT HOME .

In essence was Bravo given a fair hearing . If the answer is No , then
I believe there is a problem .

I smell a Rat when I hear talk about
Counseling ; what sort of Counseling ,Anger ; Madness . I am of the opinion that the use of the word Counseling , is a loaded word that has been inserted by the Worst International Cricket Board in the
Commonwealth , for maximum effect .

POINT 2016-12-14 10:59:42

In reply to Narper

Elsewhere in this Forum , I have already stated what you have written .
My take is that his Lawyer must be with him in any proceedings & he must also be able to have private conversations with Bravo .

Some time ago I stated in this very Forum after the aborted Tour to India ; the following :

ALL PLAYERS WHO LEFT WIPA NEEDED TO

HIRE A LAW OFFICE THAT SPECIALIZES IN

CONTRACTS .

I ALSO STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO

HAVE COLLECTIVE LEGAL REPRESENTATION

RATHER THAN EACH PLAYER HIRING HIS

OWN LAWYER . IN ESSENCE UNITY IS

STRENGTH .

BETTER YET IS THE FACT

THAT IT WOULD COST THEM LESS

COLLECTIVELY , THAN EACH INDIVIDUALLY

SEEKING THEIR OWN LEGAL FIRM .

POINT 2016-12-14 11:16:36

In reply to londoner

It is very unfortunate , but ALL of the Regional Boards are in collusion with the WICBC , which consists of
members of the WICBC .

THIS IS WHY I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY

STATED IN THIS FORUM THAT ALL CRICKET

BOARDS & WICBC NEED TO UNDERGO VERY

SERIOUS STRUCTURAL CHANGES .

That aint likely to happen because the People in the WICBC & in the
Regional Boards are very much more
interested in :

SELF PRESERVATION RATHER THAN

EXERCISING GOOD GOVERNANCE .

THEY ARE UNINTERESTED IN TRANSPARENCY

GOOD GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY .

The one that was stipulated in the tour contract he signed for that tour...

POINT 2016-12-14 11:30:36

So then why is it that the WICBC & the
Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board are reduced to Grovelling ???

Ridge 2016-12-14 11:39:09

Why WICB wasting their time on Bravo.
He seems too big for the game.
They should send him out to pasture. evil

Kay 2016-12-14 12:48:37

In reply to Ridge

They realised he is still not grown up so they are treating him with kids gloves. Patience will soon run out though and the big hammer will drop......

People seem to have a copy of the signed contract of Darren Bravo.
We all witness Phil Simmons being suspended first and fired the second time, when he breached the contract.

I believe the code of conduct signed by players, is something the WICB and players must adhere to.

Ramnarine and ALL dem local clubs don't think so.

They are taking de La Basse rat and the current TTCB to court....and the current TTCB will be holding on for dear life.

T20 cricket is well and alive in T&T.

or maybe...you do not consider T20 cricket as real cricket wink

Court matter

Good observation, but folks in here care a hell about WI cricket- the worry is folks back home have lost interest. They seemed to have moved on. So sad

POINT 2016-12-14 17:35:03

I do not think that stalling is going to trump the inevitable . Evidently this has escaped the attention of the
Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board .

The Region is well aware of this tactic which is one of the WICBC Ploys
the commissioning of several Reports , and then ignoring them , is a very well known tactic the Emperors love indulging in .

Next in line for the WICBC is the
Wehby Report , ALL in an attempt to
delay the inevitable . As I have stated very often in this Forum :

THE PEOPLE IN THE REGIONAL BOARDS &

IN THE WICBC ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN

SELF PRESERVATION , THEY DO NOT GIVE

A DAMN ABOUT GOOD GOVERNANCE ;

TRANSPARENCY OR EXERCISING GOOD

GOVERNANCE .

Is there any wonder why WI cricket is where it is today?

Bravo was deemed wrong by the WICB, but was due process followed in sending him home...

and...placing what seems to be a ban on his livelihood.

Now...someone, somewhere, qualified in whatever has deemed that he needs some sort

of counseling. What sort of counseling does he need? When was this determined? Who is going to do

this counseling?

Narper 2016-12-17 16:55:54

johndom90 2016-12-17 17:13:03

In reply to Narper

I am not defending Bravo's idiotic stupid post...totally assinine.

Thats clear now.

Any assertiveness, original independent thought is frowned upon by the WICB and its

cohorts at the local level. I've put it before, that success follow from not only discipline,

but a certain type of bad mindedness and determination that cannot be taught or coached, but

must be allowed to flourish.

Lara once said something to the effect that the WiCB is the only Board that takes talented players

and make them mediocre.

Good Luck with this damn cricket!

A widely held view and one that has been sadly mistaken . In all cricketing circles the three issues that dominate public discussion are this. The alleged pedophile and the players domestically and internationally. If we are such a docile people , you need to take a look and the court cases in the industrial court, the police vs public brutality that is often met out to officers in public and sadly violence . These are but a few examples , Dave Cameron is a category by him self in the vote for the worst sport admin for 2016. Don't perpetuate a misnomer

POINT 2016-12-18 10:38:02

My perspective is that the members of the Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC

ARE UTTERLY BEYOND REDEMPTION THIS

IS PRECISELY WHY THEY MUST BE REMOVED

. FROM THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET IN

THE REGION .

THIS MUST ALSO APPLY TO THE REGIONAL

BOARDS WHO ARE JUST AS BAD AS THOSE

IN THE WICBC . THE ONLY THING THEY

ARE INTERESTED IN IS SELF

PRESERVATION .
