Jahmar Hamilton
In reply to jen
94, 125,65, and 49* in that record chase. Averaging 67.50 after 6 innings.
Excellent 1st of a season.
In reply to jen
BTW it is Jahmar and for me he is the best pure wicketkeeper out of all the young ones avail. Livewire behind the stumps too....Always chirping.
Gawn now for 103...caught at slip

who is this kid mate?
In reply to jcveletta
26 yr old from Anguilla. He has been around a while but seems to be maturing nicely with the bat this season. Very good wicketkeeper and always had potential to be a good all-round talent. I believe he will be the 2nd Anguillan to play test cricket.
In reply to voiceofreason
The guy was always better than the wicketkeeper, you been promoting.
Had that dude not moved to the Yard, Hammie would be second string.
I remember Hamilton scoring his first ton and still being back-up to Thomas.
In reply to openning
FYI I never promoted Thomas over Hamilton. As far as I know Thomas does not even keep anymore and is a stubborn fella.
They shared the gloves but even before Thomas left for Jamaica he had given up the gloves.
In reply to voiceofreason
Think he had one or two good scores for the A team too? Ah loving this, means Dowrich can't get complacent in that test spot. Have to be the most consistent i've seen a Leewards player for years.
In reply to voiceofreason
My macbook auto corrected the name sighhhh, going change it.
In reply to jen
99 and 56* vs Lanka A. Jammer could be a good nickname.
In reply to jen
Hamilton is at peace, he don't have to look over his shoulder any more.
The guy was always the better keeper, yet he in and out of the team, because of Thomas
In reply to openning
He was never out the team. They shared the gloves which was a silly idea.
The youth was always in our top 3 bats.
In reply to voiceofreason
Did we not debated Hamilton and Thomas some time ago?
It is good to see the youngster scoring runs, its about time
In reply to voiceofreason
He has been impressive this season, including the tour of Sri Lanka.

Hamilton is playing great cricket
In reply to voiceofreason
Actually, the first I heard of Hamilton it was u talking of him. I had time for him since, saying he can turn into a good perspect for the WI.
Good Hamilton, just kick down the door.
In reply to voiceofreason
Dude you are talking to someone that follow cricket, especially the Leewards.
This year was so bad, having to look over his shoulder
In reply to openning
He played more games than Thomas and what is wrong with having to look over your shoulder?
In reply to voiceofreason
It is always Antigua vs the rest of the Leewards, Hamilton started his regional with 34 & 98 against CCC, he took a back seat to the Antiguan Devon Thomas
He should never had to share the gloves with Devon.
The year I posted was the first year, they played all games together, he batted ten times for 57 runs.
In reply to voiceofreason
very good! I wish him all the best.
This is what players need to do to get selected, score and score and then score some more.
Good, very good.
I hope he continues this rich vein of batting form, if he's a good keeper then it provides some competition to Dowrich and strength in depth is a good thing to have.
In reply to Andy99
Good, very good.
totally agree,
Hammy is playing well, and has improved, but still about 10point behind Shane at fc , this shows how consistent and improved Dowrich was in the past.u need at least 4 good keepers in your system.
One things for sure, some players do seem to be benefiting from the professionalisation of the league. The other thing that needs to take place now is for the proper marketing of the league.
And for a true franchise model to allow for the best players to get the experience.
Wonderful problem to have because both of them can make the team with their bats alone. The scoring in this years tournament have improve markedly.
Hamilton
Hope
Alleyne
Campbell
Cornwall
All maturing and producing. Let the competition begin for spots.
In reply to seaegg99
Well base on this season alone, Alleyne should be opening with Kraigg come the home series 2017. We can't continue with Chandrika/leon Johnson as openers. Its not natural for Johnson.
Dowrich will still be first preference, but i'll add Hamilton to the squad to keep him in check. We have a good crap of players to choose from to make a lil decent batting unit in tests.
Kraigg
Alleyne
Lil Bravo
Visual Singh/Shai Hope/Leon Johnson
Chase
Blackwood
Dowrich/Hamilton
Clearly these are our best regional batters at the moment. Rahkeem Cornwall another in the mix but will be hard to fit him once, cause even if you need an all rounder, Jason Holder batting potential is just amazing.
In reply to jen
If Hamilton continues to bat the way he is batting, why should he be sitting on the bench? Just because he is a wicket keeper?
According to the players, Kraigg refused the captaincy after the Bajans got together in a room and decided that if Kraigg became Captain, Jason would have no place in the team. Subsequently, i don't think batting potential is what is keeping Jason Holder in the team right now.
Know Hammie very well, he has an excellent temperament and even more determination. The callup is on the way, you heard it here first

Just like Jason's amazing batting potential eh

2nd I think

Chase and Blackwood spot maybe in jeopardy but think the selectors will persist for a while.
Shai Hope has been scoring heavily in our cricket and deserves a middle order spot once one open up, not to mention his batting in the recent tri series was really good. Surprised me to be honest. Blackwood has been very inconsistent lately, maybe he needs the wake up call. Vishual Singh has been in the runs for the A team too, would be hard to over look him.
For me, I think windies should play 6 bats with Holder at 7. Holder these days is a batting all rounder, and a good one I must say. Is only against Self destructing pakistan we'll win playing 2 1/2 bowlers. But one glimmer of hope is that Holder's bowling has looked really good since the last test in pakistan through the trip series. Lets see.

Right I am actually seeing the youngsters batting longer innings. That was not a consistent thing for many a year now. Players are getting between 500 - 800 runs for a couple of seasons now. Competition is abound and that is what we have been looking for now for years. If we can get better game management this will start to really look up.
In reply to jen
If one of those bats is the wk, I fully agree
I think thats the way to go, and the way the selectors had been thinking, with Ramdin at 6, Ramdin just wasnt cutting it.
My XI shaping up like this
Brathwaite
Alleyne/Campbell/K. Hope (in that order)
Blackwood/ * opener not selected above..I don't see Lil B getting any FC cricket to get into the squad,
Chase
Singh / S.Hope
Dowrich
Holder
Cornwall/Roach
Bishoo
Gabriel
Joseph/ Roach
Reserve wk
Hamilton
Those players minus one of the openers looking like the 15 man squad at this stage in the proceedings, players can play themselves out though..not too late
