He has to put up the numbers consistently to demonstrate that he is the best, for there are many other spinners in the region now that WI could almost use a 4 spin attack since our quick (the word quick used due to lack of an alternative) are far below test standards.

Of the spinners I have seen this season he seems to be the one with the deliveries that could be problematic to batsmen at the next level up. Of course leggies are prone to be expensive.

That's my point...he puts a lot of body action on the ball...I can't remember the last time I saw a leggie who worked the ball as much as he does...

That is what I thought when I first saw him,he could be a bigger test for opposing batsmen at test level.

Our best Jamaican legspinner since Arthur Barrrett and if we win the league this season then I would expect to see him in West Indies colours.

That's why a captain is important when it comes to leg spinners. Its why I feel we don't get the best out of Bishoo. Wanting a leg spinner to contain runs only put him under pressure. Shane Warne always said bowl aggressively to a defensive field.

People just keep on expecting leg spinners to be as metronomic as Shane Warne. Warne was a freak of nature talent, hard to replicate his accuracy.

Great observation! Warne, Quadir et al comes by once in a blue moon. Miller (as captain) has with patience and timing done an excellent job with Jacobs.

If Jacobs makes it to the next level can the Test captain do likewise?

The bigger question is patience....does a fledgling captain have the patience to work with an untested leggie...

He is a good leggie who has a good googly in his armory, one of the Commies were talking about how he outfoxed the Leewards' batsmen. Offers generous flight, turn and bounce. Let us see what happens in the 2nd half.

If Jacobs can replicate what Brown did then Jacobs/Miller tandem might just spin Jamaica to the title if the batting can hold up.
