1 billion people, an unrelenting desire to get out of a bad situation, and batsmen they idolize.

Tendy, Dravid, VVS, Sehwag, and now Kohli. To name a few.

Gonna have to rename the ARG
Gonna call it 'Perth' or 'Kensington'

In reply to Khaga

Given that Mr. Dravid is working with India's young cricketers, it looks like they'll be churning out great batsmen by the minute.

We have twice as much "triple-century makers"(incl. a quad)!

Did India send players to to West Indies on cricket scholarships??

Especially the intellect part.

Bear with me on this baseball analogy re the cowlashing part...

There was once a lead-off hitter for the NY Mets named Juan Samuel who came out of the Dominican Republic. Good hitter, but with the one blemish that he was prone to strike-outs due to his reluctance to 'take balls' and hopefully earn walks. When queried on this apparent flaw, his response was simple, "You don't just walk off the island, you have to hit your way off".

Most peeps on here would say that CHG is a "cowlasher with no technique or intellect"

He has two triples including one away!

I just love this new angle (presented first by your sidekick).

I can't recall whether any of Schewag's triples won a match or only 'preserved' draws. They were very 'productive' regardless.

POINT 2016-12-20 09:47:30

In reply to Mr-Anguilla

YOU have to start at the top ; therefore:

THE WICBC & THE REGIONAL BOARDS MUST

UNDERGO SERIOUS STRUCTURAL CHANGES .

THEIR MISSION STATEMENT MUST INCLUDE

GOOD GOVERNANCE ; TRANSPARENCY &

ACCOUNTABILITY .

Currently these are missing in the WICBC AND THE REGIONAL BOARDS . Now
once THEY have successfully achieved these goals . I would have absolutely
no problem with the Regional Governments giving them Money .

That is the Carrot ; the stick is that any violation of any of the goals I have cited will immediately
bring about a cutoff of Governments
Funds . In essence if & when they choose to misbehave they will be treated like Children , that would as
I have stated bring about an immediate cutoff of Funds .

POINT 2016-12-20 10:09:07

The concept of KIDDIES CRICKET, in my
opinion is very good . However , I do not get the impression that the Coaching of these Kids are as basically sound for them as it should
be .

Experts are generally in agreement that Children learn a lot between the ages of 3 -7 . That being the case at
an early age Kids must be taught the
basic fundamentals of the game .

It is exceedingly glaring when a R.H batsman facing a leg Spinner puts his
leading leg straight down the Pitch ,
rather than where the ball likely to
drop , and expecting to make contact . There are many Senior Players make
this mistake .

I believe that by the time a Cricketer gets into his/her teens they must be fully grounded in the Fundamentals of all aspects of the game .

Emphasis in my opinion must be placed
on STAMINA , MENTAL & PHYSICAL in their teens , so that after some time
it becomes automatic to them .

So I think to inculcate the above ,
Players who demonstrate that they can
Bat ; Bowl & Field for long periods
should be rewarded .

Flat track bulleys my friend. They don't last long. Except if you are Kholi of course, who is the master of them all. It was not too long ago India had 2 openers who played their first 10 or so test on the subcontinent.

Oh man they looked great. They look like the 2 greatest openers ever to play test cricket for any nation. Albeit while on the subcontinent curry decks. Then they took a plane that crossed water instead of land only. That was it for them.
