Overrated recipes

Being from certain Countries and eating certain foods, we tend to think our dishes are the best, an outsider's view is probably the most accurate.

What dish, do you ask yourself, what is the big fuss about? lol

Is Trini souse the same as Guyanese souse?

I think souse is ok but it's not something I would die for.

Halliwell 2016-12-22 02:08:37

Alright lol
I humbly withdraw the labelling of souse as overrated
My wife, had she read this, would similarly express her horror at the souse diss

Chicken is too cheap in America for me to be eating the feet. As for the pork, I might have a bite or two but I would not indulge heavily.

Phew.
'Souse' is done different in Bim than in most of the Caribbean. Both style delicious.
Souse in Bim is more (much more) about pickled cucumber/onion

Bajan Souse

an example of a poor 'non-souse' souse that some restaurants in Bim pass as souse

Regular Souse

All taste good!

DAVE400 2016-12-22 11:05:01

To me the most overrated thing is steak...unless you blaspheme by drowning it in sauce it has no effing taste.

Wow...to me the taste of the cucumber is in the juice...the juicier the tastier...grating drains the juices quickly.

black 2016-12-23 15:07:51

In reply to Ayenmol

True, I never knew grated cucumbers were used.

I doesn't seem to make sense but, to each his own. lol
