Hmmm...a bit more effort in the reporting would've revealed that Russell's been sporting a heavily strapped right knee. They even showed the strapped knee during the TV coverage.

As far as I can tell Russell has never been in conflict with the Board...

Do you think you would see such an editorial headline on the front page of an Australian, Pommie or Mindia Cricket Board page?

He certainly didn't flop with the ball. He was the most economical on his team, with a wicket to boot.

That run out was outstanding too...the awareness, the speed, and the agility.

The problem with the Thunder is that they depend too heavily on Shane Watson and Andre Russell, and both are carrying injuries. Khawaja is unavailable and Mike Hussey has retired, leaving gaping holes their struggling to fill.
