Great times indeed.

Yup. Usually in Australia with Cozier (and in the early days sometimes together with Reds) doing the commentary.
Those appearances steadily declined as West Indies declined. We weren't the draw anymore.....certainly not for premier attractions as the Boxing Day tests etc.
It also didn't help that the WICB sent teams to Oz minus players that were still popular with the Australian public to prove some sort of point.
I guess point proven. "No more tests for you" is the result

Well cricket on the tele has disappeared. More than just cricket at Christmas, I remember coming in from school to watch Shell Shield cricket and for sure there was Test cricket.
How they expect youngsters to show an interest in cricket in the West Indies when all they see now is NBA?
The market has certainly determined where our youngsters interests should be.

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to commentary of Boxing day tests of 1984,88,92,96..Vic scored a massive double hundred in 84..Ambrose took a 10 for in 1996..WI were down 0-2 going in to Boxing Day test in 1996 and they pulled one back with Ambrose's 10 for..it was the last competitive series for Windows down under before they became Mindies..they were decimated in 2000..
Jim Maxwell,Tony Cozier and Neville Oliver on ABC Grandstand ..magical
days gone for good, sadly
