Blacks used it as a tool to sustain themselves during some horrific times.
Blacks and whites were introduced differently to christianity. Christianity told whites that they were superior race destined to rule. Christianity told blacks to shut up and accept your lot.

the mind set of indigenous populations to believe in these biblical characters

that bore no resemblance or relevance to their time and space.

I never said it did. However here are two claims used by white southerners justified the enslavement of blacks.

1. When Cain was cast out and marked, he received the mark of "black skin".
2. When Ham molested Noah, and god cursed him and said that his descendants would be slaves he was talking about the descendants of Cain
White Christians combine 1) and 2) to claim that enslavement of blacks was ordained by god. Check it out, it was a popular belief used to justify enslavement, it is just not politically correct to say it these days.

In the Mormon faith the early American ancestors of the native Americans were white and good chrstians. Over the years, as they committed sin, their skin became darker, since dark skin was a mark of sin. Again, just don't take my word for it.

The bible can be interpreted in many ways to benefit the interpreter, thats why they have so many christian denominations.

Religion is oppressive , not just Christianity.

Blacks are depressed mostly by their lack of knowledge or tefusal to gain any that can improve themselves economically and financially. I still know msny who say the only way to increase wealth is by banking your salary. Few blacks the world over will invest in a business, stocks, invention, housing out of fear. What causes fear? Lack of knowledge, what caused lack of knowledge? The distaste of deep insightful reading throught a sort of laziness and impatience (those things take too long) What is the result we swallow the investing in the stock market is only to lose money which is meant to kerp is away. The same one preaching this are investing all over, buying up land, investimg in businesdrs, putting retirement money in various investment vehicles and banks make money hand over fist with the money in those accounts while payong .02 interest and giving little in loans. Yep its Christianity !! Not deep rooted ignorance or idiocy.

Old Testament; based on the "slavery" which really was not nlack slaves but of all nationalities taken in captivity by so called world powers of that time. It was the custom of enslaving war captives as more usefull to do labor rather than slaughter them all. This was practiced everywhere; some slaves from Africa were alrrady bonded slaves via tribal wars. They gained freedom after a period of servitude and assimilation into the tribes.
As for the bibilical, the Osraelites were slaves for how long??? All countries have had a history of slave labor it was a matter of conquest and economics/profit not racism.

What is your point? Slaves have been a part of human existence for millenia. Joseph grandson of Abraham himself, was sold into slavery by his own brothers. They were not punished by God for this. Because of the Covenant that was made with Abraham all his offspring were protected under the law given to his natural descendants. So they were not allowed to be sold into slavery..every family was given an inheritance when the Nation was given the promised land. But it was up to them to protect and grow that inheritance. Many lost their inheritance for various reasons. But even if poor they could not be made slaves. slavery was a part of life at the time. It was not Racial. Simply domination of the haves over the have nots.

Clearly this is not the slavery you have in mind...as was said in the exact scripture you posted, an Israelite could not be a slave...so if God says they are both his servants that means that he cares and loves for all regardless of social standings.

The Israelites themselves were slaves for 200 years in Egypt. Slaves in that time even though they were believers were to honor their obligations. Same as a worker today, a slave, are to honor their employers.

Talk about cherry picking...you are blatantly presenting the Bible in a false and misleading manner, but claiming to have peoples best interest at heart...you are just as much an instrument of Satan as all those you are lambasting who spread false Religious doctrine.

Racism is what was used to keep slaves underfoot in early America. In spite of the bible, White's ingrained in their children the teaching that they were superior to Blacks in order to keep them as slaves for generations. Racism did not lead to slavery. Greed and fear led to racial oppression to further subjugate persons who were less fortunate.

Black women have always been the ones who were able to own services business in the US. We all know why in the past and today its because near 70% are employed in the services sector considered, health/child care, beauty services, drycleanimg/laundry services, and food/restaurant they been doing that through and after slavery. Secondly Bill eased qualifications for grants for minority women to start businesses during his term and it began taking off from there.
Which gave them skin in the fame to get a bank loan in addition. In addition 54% of the black population is female and 30% of those are head of households. That does not mean they have very good investment knowledge;they have gained business knowledge through wage earning experience.

What I care about is where to compound that money made to grow it. That is where they lack knowledge and are prone to lapse behind others. I am not parsing out gender as blacks in general are way behind in other than ownimg a small business. 'Those' who have the kmowledge wont readily pass it on to us we have to go research it and few of us want to. Roughly 5% of blacks invest without a 401k most dont even know what is in theur 401k and many dont maximize. That is slowly changing forced by lowly savings bank rates which was where blacks stuffed their money prior. They are asking questions now as they see their 401k gowth vs banks accounts. Asking questions and doing self research will enlighten many and increase their personal wealth. When I tell manh that mixture of munis, I bonds and stocks since 79 helped me pay my kids college housing among other things they seem bewildered. I have put many young black parents on the college savings path. Youd be surprised to lnow how low the mumber is of those who actually know about 529s or how they work. Few even access a Roth something in which I have each of my working children putting away additional funds.
