Will it be Russia? Don't bet your life on it. Russia needs to rebuild itself after crushing sanctions.
Will it be Iran? Even with some sanctions removed by Obama, and maybe restored by Trump, Iran will be in no position to rebuild Syria.
Maybe China can help, but that might come at too steep a price for even Assad.
Of course many will look to the much hated USA,, but only on one condition - Assad's head.

Like the fella said, russia was the country attempting regime change thru out the arab world, inciting and fueling civil wars to install puppet govts afterwards, under the guise of democracy but really about the control of their oil resources and other self interests.
