If someone has not played for a WI team in any format recently, he will find it difficult to make the Barbados team.

“I really wanted to finish my career in Barbados with the Super50 being played here. I asked the selectors and they obviously had different plans and I (guess) I didn’t fit in. So, all is good, it was touching. It hurt me a lot because I really wanted to finish my career at home.

If Shivnotout's stats are correct it may be sad but necessary.

Devin 2017-01-02 15:47:42

He fluked his way to a test century on debut vs South Africa in South Africa. Kudos to him.

Not that kind of help...Thank you. smile

We have a nice young squad developing and we really do not need these guys and their baggage to disrupt the process.

I broke ass man need all the help that is offered, Tino & Joseph, will be firing faster than anything we have seen in the last 10 years.
Kirk has plenty tons, and Benn can help the big guy.

voiceofreason 2017-01-02 20:44:08

In reply to openning

I say no to their baggage especially Benn and Best. Kirk's 26.92 List A Average is ordinary so it is best we stick with who we have. Would like to get Larry Joseph but perhaps he will play for CCC.

It's not like our ODI side did brilliantly without Smith in Zimbabwe....
big grin
Pack the side with more untalented youngsters.

Smith's not worried...next month, he'll be playing T20s in Pakistan. After that, he's on to the IPL. Then, it's the CPL...he has a busy schedule.

Who needs West Indies cricket?
cool

analyst-kid 2017-01-03 09:51:15

But how a man get selected over the world to play $30000 a day cricket and cahn get a play for 3 cent cricket?

Smith should have made himself available for CCC or Leewards...CCC I believe would take him in a flash.

cherri 2017-01-03 10:05:10

In reply to analyst-kid

Sometimes your comments does mek me wonder if you are really in tune with what is happening in our cricket..............these fellas have been labelled, and the establishment is not going to pick them because they feel the men doan care bout WI cricket, but you cayn call me a ho and then vex if you see me up bush hill. and that is exactly how the establishment operating with de men...........label them as T20 specialists and then annoyed whey they ply their trade in the t20 league........he would now have nuff time to spend with his wife and young family..............

analyst-kid 2017-01-03 10:35:18

In reply to cherri

hey cherri....I dun know this already...you forget I live in Barbados?

those guys selecting can't help being jealous and annoyed with guys like Smith making a living out of cricket and money they never dreamed about.

In their position they are now in position to lord over guys like Smith. But I don't think Smith is one of those who doesn't care about WI cricket.

Smith was excluded already from the four day team by the late George Linton so this nothing new.

i think Smith did the right thing , or maybe we expect too much from him.at least he can make a living playing T20

Smith adds nothing to a bim lineup in 4D or OD

analyst-kid 2017-01-03 13:54:56

In reply to tc1

The good thing about Smith not there is that the others would develop their one day skills esp in the batting.

In reply to shivnotout The man is so over weight, and also have a double chin. All that pies he has been eating. You can not be a athlete and look like that. Being fit is very important. I watch him just on Sport Max talking about why he retired. He also have sport store run by his sister and cousins.
