That is to say JW's don't play sport. I do not think so.

I've been worshipping with the JW for 2 years now and doing Bible study for years....this is not true of the JW.

i think they dont do sport on Sunday.

Bahrat was a great prospect and a sad waste of talent... maybe religion helps him cope with this.

As a youngster I played with a guy called Cleveland Codrington, he joined Yorkshire after leaving St. George, he was a terror, in the Intermediate division.
Most of expected him to join Empire, he became a christian and quit playing cricket.
Many of us at the time believe he was much better than David Holdford
A number that were not High school produced some good local players, West St. Joseph, Parkinson, St.George and St. Leonard
The best youngster I played with, was Vincent Straker.

A real waste of talent.I remember Alan Donald really rated this guy when he was involved with the IPL.

Good luck to him dipping people's heads in water I guess.

A lot people rated him. Scored a quality century in Aus.

But that's what religion does to a person. It fcuks with your head and eventually takes over your life. Sad.

The century in Australia was a good attacking innings that surprised many people. However, it seemed like he flung his bat hard at deliveries outside off. He was in great form and connected with every shot that day but was bound to get into trouble at some point. Don't think he exhibited enough control and I saw him go hard at the ball outside off even in England. He certainly had talent though and was highly rated by people who should know. Not sure he was thoughtful enough about his batting or had enough restraint.

Those are very good and accurate observations re: his technique.

He no doubt had the natural talent but as you pointed out it is how he would have handled a period of bad form when it eventually came around. I believe he would have had the mental fortitude to work things out and get back into the fold.

But sadly, another talent in the region goes to waste.

You could very well be joking but you should know there is a website where you can read the Watchtower and ALL their publications present and past.

I have an uncle who married a JW and converted before doing so. A few years back his mother (my grandmother) died and I later learned that he stood outside the church during the entire funeral service because JWs are prohibited from entering other churches.

I have no time for any religion or denomination that would prohibit me from entering any church to attend my mother's funeral. Foolishness dat.

analyst-kid 2017-01-06 21:07:50

In reply to Walco

Again I have no proof of JWs being prohibited from entering other churches. I myself have gone to funerals adminstered by other denominations and seen JWs there albeit in the background.

analyst-kid 2017-01-06 22:12:21

That is not a prohibitation. That is your uncle's choice.

I can confirm what you said. Years ago I had a JW friend who attended my father's funeral and church service with no issues at all.

and where did you get this? From a JW directive?

56-60 are all Biblical based....51-55 are all personal choices...but JW publications clearly states that most of the rest are all personal decisions one must make.

my Kingdom Hall has members who have married spouses of different faiths or no faith and are involved in sporting activities.
