Hamstring injury ends Dre-Russ's campaign prematurely but a fellow West Indian joins defending champs
Sydney Thunder star Andre Russell’s KFC Big Bash season is over, with West Indies World T20 hero Carlos Brathwaite to replace the allrounder for the remainder of BBL|06.

Russell was stretchered off from Spotless Stadium after injuring his left hamstring against the Melbourne Stars during Wednesday night’s final-ball thriller and the Thunder confirmed on Thursday the injury would sideline the allrounder for at least 4-6 weeks.

Does this mean Braff will miss the super50 and hence the England series?

It means that Braff doesn't care. He is chasing the $$$ as he rightly should.

Narper 2017-01-05 12:35:15

I believe that happened the moment he turned down a central/retainer contract.

I agree it is eroding quickly
And I think he has realised that.

How quickly players fade when they are not part of the WICB setup.

The Bravo's? Gone from International spotlight and fading professionally elsewhere!

Sammy? Gone from International spotlight and fading professionally elsewhere!

Russell? His star has fallen and I don't expect to see him in the International spotlight again!

C Braithwaite? On a steady decline since World Cup T20 and harmed himself by not accepting the WICB contract. Falling falling!!

Ok, some may argue that it's about the money. However, watch the mercenaries sweat when the an ICC tournament commence and they are not part of it. The afore mentioned will have to stay on the sidelines and tweet. Perhaps even evoke god to summon some strength.

How quickly we forget our beginnings....

Those on the "WICB is badminded" wagon see it as victimization..

why wunna worrying bout Carlos?.....Carlos along with almost all the Barbadian cricketers in the region will fare better than most, reason being, they all have something to fall back on, cricket was not the first choice for many of them, most of them went off the radar and finished their studies, others have started the process and can continue later, making themselves marketable, cricket life is fleeting, there is life after and most of these youngsters are looking down that road...........just saying.........cricket is like playing fast money on a game show, but the show does end at sometime, and that is where you need a plan B, because fast money is just that.... fast, yuh does mek it fast, and yuh does spend it fast.......that is why certain people cayn guh long and leff the cricket, dem ent have nothing to turn to when the cricket done........we gine soon have a geriatric league...........
