In the USA many radical evangelical fundamentalist fight the education boards for requiring students to study subjects such as comparative religion, yoga, marriage equality, and evolution.

Do you also support these parents being forced by a court to have their children attend those classes. because in the US, parents are allowed to withdraw their child based on religious convictions.

You cannot both uphold the virtues that we hold sacred in this country while at the same time supporting the Swiss govt in the particular case.

In Switzerland it was not the law, but the bigger point is one of parental rights.

I re-iterate that muslims have to follow the laws of the land, if they disagree then they need to come together and have favorable laws as per their cause legislated
Until they can have this they need to follow and should face penalties as per the law if they do not abide. No gray area here for me.

President Obama: I reject discrimination against Muslim Americans who are just as patriotic as we are.

The key is the American part.

The ordinary Muslim has been bombed to smithereens under Obama and every other American president since Bush senior.

The Muslim American is a cherished part of the American democracy. Go figure.

This issue is about parental rights, not some autocratic laws as you are reading it. I tried to clue you in to the intellectual argument about this issue, but you fail to grasp it.

This is more a problem of integration, Europe is beginning to see Muslims that are not integrated as a threat. The more integrated they are, the less likely they will hold Anti-European sentiments.

Look, non European and no christian immigrants to the USA and Canada have shown to fully integrate within two generations- This is b/c America and Canada are also immigrant countries and neither was an old world colonizer.

Immigrants- old one and new ones add to the ever evolving culture and tapestry that is the USA

In Europe the situation is different: those European countries that immigrants flock to are mostly former colonizers and invaders of the land of those immigrants. Moreover, Europe owe a significant part of their wealth and development to colonization, imperialism, slavery and free markets.

Europe does not have a free notion of integration, you either who accept their culture or live in the margins- never mind these same European countries imposed their culture when they invaded, yet, when these immigrants enter Europe, they are expected to adopt immediately.

Europe must change a little and she cannot turn back now.
