NFC Championship Game...

Ayenmol 2017-01-14 19:55:39

Is going to be fun...Atlanta vs Dallas or Green Bay?

Either matchup is going to be great viewing.

Only true defensive team left is KC and i think Steelers are going to beat them.

This is going to be an Offensive SuperBowl!

They played great. Their Defense is going to have to play very well to win a SuperBowl, lkke they did last night. There were times last nigh though it seemed Wilson had infinity to throw with no pass rush in his face. They can't get away with that against the Patriots or Steelers.

Why do winning players thank God, but the losers don't thank anyone? Does it mean that the losers are backed by the devil while the winners are backed by God?

BTW, KC vs GB for the superbowl....I like KC to win it all...

So you see KC beating Pittsburgh and NE in NE? That would be no mean feat.

ray 2017-01-15 10:49:59

In reply to Priapus

Beating Steelers will not be as difficult as people think...NE will be tough, but they will pull it off

Alex Smith will not outplay Aaron Rodgers.

If GB can somehow get past Dallas and Atlanta, they won't fall short in the Superbowl.

If GB gets past Dallass they wont get past Atlanta!

I liked the Atmosphere in the Dome last night, am happy that the NFC Championship game will be there!

Atlanta has a better offense and more dynamic defense than the Cowboys!

WestDem 2017-01-15 20:12:50

Aaron Rodgers will decide who hold de super bowl... Dallas is history, Atlanta next!
cool

You will have to ask them.

Priapus 2017-01-15 21:28:47

That was a great sideline catch by Cook to drag his feet inbounds. Also great on Rodgers part to extend the play.

Not if they keep settling for field goals. Four trips inside the red zone...3 FGs & 1 TO.

I think so too. The most balanced team.

Priapus 2017-01-15 22:10:08

Yet another FG by Pittsburgh. This may come back to bite them.

Curtis 2017-01-16 00:08:33

Phew! Thanks Steelers! Too close after dominating.

If Green Bay were full strength, I wouldn't hesitate to take them against Atlanta. I still will, but only because Aaron Rodgers is my favourite player in the league.

Green Bay have been banged up since the beginning of the year. One of their safeties has essentially been playing Cornerback for them over the past few weeks because they have no more depth.

They lost more players during this game, not sure what their statuses will be for next week.

You never know with Aaron Rodgers though. He has that look in his eyes these days, and Green Bay are on a magical run, quite similar to when they made their Superbowl run back in 2011.

I want A-Rod to go down as the greatest QB of all time. It can happen without him catching Brady. If Brady's Superbowl record is still 4-2 when he retires, then as far as I'm concerned all Rodgers needs to do is win one more Superbowl, without losing any. If he wins three, then forget about it.

Greatest passer I've ever seen, and the greatest arm talent the game has ever seen.

JoeGrine 2017-01-16 08:49:50

GREEN BAY - all Rodgers and not much else, I am very unsure that will be enough to get them by the Falcons

ATLANTA - the most balance team left in the NFC. Ryan is playing as well as Rodgers minus the media hype. The Falcons are missing key defensive players but they are deep on both sides of the ball.

ray 2017-01-16 09:01:55

Guess KC was overrated

Tryangle 2017-01-16 10:27:46

Steelers kept Hill in check, and Kelce relatively quiet (Kelce made a couple costly errors) and that was enough.

The AFC Championship should be fun to watch.

carl0002 2017-01-16 12:41:38

Greenbay continue to ride some kinda luck. I hope Atlanta pulverize dem. Dallas game plan was to give the arrogant Rogers time to pick and choose whom he throwing at. smh

I would be surprised if that defensive coordinator is back next year. SMH.

JoeGrine 2017-01-16 13:32:35

In reply to carl0002

While Dallas does not have a good defense, it was not that they gave "the arrogant Rodgers time to pick and choose whom he throwing at", no, Rodgers is that good.

What Atlanta has is a defensive genius (Dan Quinn) who with his defensive coordinator (Richard Smith) can make terrific in game adjustments, additionally, they have a fairly deep squad so the loss of superstar Trufant does not affect them like a Seattle loss of Thomas.

I know he is good. But I reserve the personal right to say sometimes its better to be lucky than to be good lol. give me that please. Tenks.lol

But jeeze did you see the amount of time he had to find some 2 bit receiver running from 1 side of the field to the other uncovered. My gosh JoeGrine if you had that much time to throw balls you would get both cheerleading squads fully pregnant by the end of the 1st qtr.

shock shock shock
lol lol lol lol

Listen now Mr. Carl, show me some respect, that which you mentioned would all happen in the first 2 minutes of the 1st quarter!! big grin big grin

Yes, Rodgers had enough time to untie and tie his laces then fling the pigskin.

Giants has a very good defence, yet Rogers had plenty time as well

JoeGrine 2017-01-16 17:16:11

In reply to ray

Rodgers is a very special QB he has arm strength, mobility and the brains to make him one difficult hombre to game plan for.

Giants minus JPP is not the same defensively, when a team don't have to account for JPP it enhances their chance at success against the Giants defense.

Devin 2017-01-16 17:25:40

People don't seem to realize that Rodgers has a lot to do with all the time he has in the pocket. All of his movements inside the pocket, side to side, forward then back, serves to buy him time while keeping the defensive linemen on their heels.

JoeGrine 2017-01-16 17:37:29

In reply to Devin

His movement is to avoid the DLine but more so to give the receivers time to separate from the secondary. It is difficult for a defensive back to stay with a receiver beyond 7 seconds so if he can escape for 7 seconds chances are a receiver will get open.

Rodgers has perfected this and now we see Ryan improving his mobility as he has stepped up his game. If your defensive line cannot set the edge and you don't have a shut down corner then Rodgers can destroy your defense.

RODGERS is very talented. Not consistent enough though, not very disciplined either.

Devin 2017-01-16 18:00:35

In reply to Ayenmol

Well, for his supposed lack of consistency and discipline, he is one of the most accurate passers in the history of the game, and if I'm not mistaken, owns the greatest TD to Int ratio.

My only knock on him is that at times he holds on to the ball a little too long, and he favours the big play at times when he should perhaps settle for something safer.

He's not a dink and dunker like Brady, he's more of a gambler.

Ayenmol 2017-01-16 18:12:22

In reply to Devin

I agree...but he has too many up and down seasons. He is also known to hold onto the ball and take sacks, or throw the ball away because he does not want to throw interceptions. Which is also why he ljkes to look for the big play.

Devin 2017-01-16 18:18:06

In reply to Ayenmol

He's so supremely talented and gifted that he gets away with certain throws that no other QB would think of making.

Sometimes being that talented can be a blessing and a curse.

archangel 2017-01-17 22:47:05

The key to an Atlanta win over Green Bay is to get pressure on Rodgers early. Hurry him up let him not get into a rhythm. We have seen when this happens, he doesn't have great games.
If he settles he will pick apart Atlanta's young inexperienced secondary. I would have felt better if Trufant was there. Alford hold too often and Neal is still learning the game. The others are weak but can play inspired.

Could be a shoot out. The key is not to get far behind. Be in the game in the fourth quarter.

The key for my team's victory will be Beasley, Clayborn and Freeney rushing. They would have to do a job that Denver with their pass rush did last season. If that gets going, they will go all the way.

JoeGrine 2017-01-18 08:15:44

In reply to archangel

Clayborn is out for the rest of the season. Surprisingly, the Falcons defense has improved in Trufant's absence, however, your point is valid, if Tru is on the field then his 1/2 of the secondary is a "no-fly zone".

Before you can pressure Rodgers, you have to (a) set the edge (b) have Campbell be the "spy" on him. Once this is effective then apply the pressure.
