I'm impressed as anyone by Afghanistan's successes on the pitch, but wow, that's an amazing turnout for a match involving Associates.

Indeed...I think about 300,000 Afghans live and work in the UAE, so with that in mind, their support in the desert is not that surprising. Cricket is one sport where the Afghans are doing well....

Cheers, didn't realize there were that many expat Afghani workers in the UAE. To be fair, it makes good sense to emigrate west.

The only Associate nation I know that has huge travelling support is Nepal. Per capita, they're as large as any Full Member. Would be interesting if Afghanistan reaches that level.

That's not even the majority of Afghans
The afghans are traders and business owners but by far they are road labourers- bussed in and out of labour camps, they are the unfortunate set that can't see the cricket- but they are from the tribal areas anyway so not fans of the sport much
