BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC) — Newly appointed director of cricket Jimmy Adams says one of the major items on his agenda is creating a structure that can lead to the establishing of a new winning culture in West Indies cricket.
The former Windies Test captain, who took up the post this month, said while the success of the international teams was important, a proper developmental structure would ensure the sustainability of that success.
“I think ultimately, we all want success; we want first, team success,” Adams told
“I would back that up and say we want a structure that guarantees a certain standard of cricket even if you’re not winning every day, but you know that with what we have from grassroots through youth cricket through the first-class structure, you know that the standard will be within a certain range.
“I think, in terms of sustainability, that becomes critical. We want to see the first team — men’s and women — winning. I think that goes without saying but I would also like to underpin that with a structure that would guarantee a certain standard of cricket going forward.”
While West Indies have excelled in the game’s shortest version, they have slumped badly in the Test and one-day formats with performances which have left them in the nether regions of the international rankings.

I see Jimmy will be going down the same path as others before him.
Cameron will have to first approve ANYTHING Jimmy wants to implement.
Jimmy will mek a few millions and go...with bitterness

It aint only the Structure of Cricket
that must be seriously changed .
THE STRUCTURE OF THE WICBC AND THE
REGIONAL BOARDS MUST ALSO UNDERGO
SERIOUS STRUCTURAL CHANGES .
I have been saying this since joining
this Forum in 2003 . So it is nice to see that Adams at least has seen the
Light .
The question however is this ,
WILL THE WICBC & THE REGIONAL BOARDS
ALSO UNDERSTAND THIS ; AND DO WHAT
NEEDS TO BE DONE ?????
I seriously doubt this , their One
and only preoccupation is :
SELF PRESERVATION ; NOTHING ELSE
MATTERS TO CAMERON & CO . THERE IS
NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT IF THE
WEHBY REPORT AGREES WITH THE OTHER
PREVIOUS REPORTS , IT ALSO WILL BE
QUICKLY DISMISSED BY THE BIG IDIOTS .

Interestingly , it was the Structure
of those who managed & ran the Shortest version of the game until the
jailing of Stanford that is responsible for OUR PLAYERS winning
two consecutive World Championship in the shortest version of the game .
Many here and in the Region seem to have forgotten this freaking fact . The Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC ;
gets all the praise , despite the
fact that they did not do one blasted thing to make them the best in the World .
Despite this fact the WICBC to my knowledge as ever praised those former Players who were in charge of
this format of the game Regionally .
I have yet to read or hear those in the Region who claim to be in Sports Media utter one word of praise to those former Players .
Perhaps that is because they were &
are emasculated by the WICBC to the
point where they are afraid of the
people in the WICBC . They too are
a significant part in the Sad , Sorry
;Story of West Indies Cricket .

Jimmy is spot on, Structure is the key

I have been saying Structure is very important in this Forum for over a Decade .
The Structure of the the Regional Boards & the WICBC is also very important in order for our Players to
be very competitive in the International Cricket Arena . This
also I have been stating in this Forum for over a Decade .
Let me again state that having squabbles with our Players just before they engage in International
Matches is a recipe for disaster .
Sadly this fact has been overlooked
by those in the governance of Cricket
and their Sycophants .

A programme is being designed for West Indies A all-rounder, Rahkeem Cornwall, which is aimed at ensuring the player fulfills his immense potential.
Chairman of selectors, Courtney Browne, said the 23-year-old was a special talent and would be given all the necessary support from the West Indies Cricket Board in order to develop his career.
Were actually putting a programme in place for Rahkeem where we are actually going to have someone to manage him overall, Browne told Line and Length Network.
We are looking at the various components of him playing cricket where we are looking at coaches, dieticians, and just getting everybody to come together to help this young player because hes a special talent.
This program has to be in Antigua, not sending him off to another country or Island.

Do you ever give anybody in the WICB a chance to breathe? I'm backing this positive project and you find something negative to input on it.
Cornwell kept home or sent abroad is working towards a great plan.
