I am here looking at MRNS – about 4 weeks ago I bought shares at about $1.20 – it’s a pharmacological stock that deals with infant seizures---I am sitting here and watching it climb 56% so far today ----could this be my Lamborghini money?

File under side note to:

infant seizures
One ah me good friends, and one time collaborator is an award winning pediatric epilepsy researcher. Dr. Morris Scantlebury is a Caribbean man, UWI (Mona) educated - world class, award winning researcher in the field... I just thought I would let you know/share of good things by "our people" on the topic. Top appointment in Canada Too often we just pull each other a part....

His ground breaking research:
He pursued postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Dr Lionel Carmant in Montreal, where he developed a model of atypical febrile seizures induced in rats with a prior neocortical freeze lesion. These studies were supported by a CIHR/Epilepsy Canada fellowship and he was recognized for this research with several awards including an American Epilepsy Society Award for Excellence in Pediatric Epilepsy Research in addition to the AES young investigator award.

Anyhow, now to the stock:

“Once we make the diagnosis, we treat right away. But we only have two medications, ACTH and Vigabatrin, both associated with significant, significant side effects and it’s not always effective,” said Dr. Scantlebury.

Dr. Scantlebury says that the current medications are only effective in 60 – 70 percent of patients and that is why they need to do the research to find better ways to treat epilepsy.
the part in bold suggest, yes, you should drop a few coins in this stock, especially as the market opportunity/potential is high.

Really impressive man. Dr. Scantlebury I mean, not Birdseye. big grin

I think the impressive Birdseye is on to something there and your information seems to confirm it.

I happen to know 4 Scantleburys in Bim. It's not a very popular name in Bim. By some coincidence I worked closely with 3 of them at different times.

It dawned on me that all of them were from St. James or St. Peter. I checked the phonebook and it seems that over 90% of the Scantleburys in Bim still live in St. James or St. Peter. big grin
