CaribbeanCricket.com 2017-01-24 07:35:22

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Jan 23, CMC – A programme is being designed for West Indies A all-rounder, Rahkeem Cornwall, which is aimed at ensuring the player fulfills his immense potential.

Chairman of selectors, Courtney Browne, said the 23-year-old was “a special talent” and would be given all the necessary support from the West Indies Cricket Board in order to develop his career.

“We’re actually putting a programme in place for Rahkeem where we are actually going to have someone to manage him overall,” Browne told Line and Length Network.

“We are looking at the various components of him playing cricket where we are looking at coaches, dieticians, and just getting everybody to come together to help this young player because he’s a special talent.”

Cornwall has emerged as one of the finest young players in the region and was recently selected for the West Indies A tour of Sri Lanka.

Great. Lambert was too early for that program. He had a fantastic cricket brain. Batted well enuff but maybe cos of weight problem, concentration and stamina effected him at the batting crease.
Help save this yute Cornwell. Good project, good idea.

I am so proud about the help for Cornwall that is being promised.

Leaders do not fail in ensuring that this program comes to pass very soon.

This is so cool to recognize Cornwall crickets gifts at such a young age. He has about 12 or more years of cricket success, if managed properly!

We are watching cricket Board this promise!

Great idea for he is a talented player who should be developed for the next level of WI cricket, very proactive move, hopefully this signals a change in Selectors willingness to train and develop young, talented players.

Brown should have a program put in place to aid Brown

POINT 2017-01-24 09:23:54

The REAL QUESTION is this :

WHAT IS BEING PUT IN PLACE SO THAT

THE WICBC IS TRANSPARENT ; ACCOUNTABLE

AND EMBRACES GOOD GOVERNANCE ?????

Excellent.

Now it is up Cornwall....he has to want this help too...he has to understand his need for this program...and understand the benefits in the long run.

The Point is whenever WICB shows poor governance or decisions we are entitled to criticize them, conversely, if they make good decisions that is advantageous to the development of a young, talented cricketer or decisions that could be deemed as potentially positive towards the overall development of WI cricket, if other talanted players are placed on the same track, we are entitled to applaud them.

POINT, you cannot argue with this one.

This is a positive move by Cricket West Indies.

You cannot just oppose for opposing sake.

POINT 2017-01-24 15:34:54

The essential Point I am making is this :

AS LONG AS THE WICBC CONTINUES WITH

ITS 1929 STRUCTURE UNCHANGED , THERE

AINT GOING TO BE ANY PROGRESS IN

WEST INDIES CRICKET .

Yes I applaud what is being done for
Cornwall , I hope that will also be done for ALL Promising Players .

The essential point I am making that
cannot be factually refuted is that
Our Players are being hamstrung by
the Worst International Cricket Board
in the Commonwealth ; aka the WICBC .

WE ARE STUCK WITH PEOPLE IN THE

GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET WHO ARE NOT

TRANSPARENT ; NOT ACCOUNTABLE ,

ARROGANT ; EGOTISTICAL ; AWFUL

ADMINISTRATORS , AND UTTERLY DEVOID

OF PROPER INTER PERSONAL SKILLS .

These characteristics are mainly
the reasons why WE in the longer versions of the game are wallowing
at or near the bottom of International Cricket . Now this is
an undisputable Fact .

POINT 2017-01-24 15:47:25

Seriously the People in the WICBC need to be trained about proper Governance
& Management Skills .

My take as I have expressed in this
Forum on many occasions , is that the
Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth , aka the WICBC , OR
CWI ; aka CRICKET WORST IDIOTS ; are
the People that are impeding the Progress of Cricket in the Region .

All I would like to know is this :

WHY IS IT THAT PRIOR TO ENGAGING IN

INTERNATIONAL MATCHES ; THE WICBC

CHOSES TO DISRUPT & UNSETTLE OUR

PLAYERS ?????

I do not know or have heard that other International Cricket Boards
engaging in this Asinine Behaviour .

If the WICBC believes that this is a
motivational tool , it sure as hell
aint working , Yet the Big Idiots
persist in this Stupidity .

All I want people in this Forum to do
is to factually inform me where in what I have stated here is a Lie .

Stumpoff 2017-01-24 20:49:40

The is a good forward looking move by the WICBC by making this investment.
But base on the type of play Cornwall is there is a good chance he could be one to get sucked up by the IPL, BBL, etc.... Yes.... he should go make some money if that chance come but lets see if he become ungrateful at certain point when he has to chose between a WI series and and T20 leagues.

black 2017-01-25 00:34:58

I have a program for him

I AM SAYING THAT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO

HAVE BEEN IN THE GOVERNANCE OF CRICKET

IN THE REGION HAVE BEEN ABYSMAL IN

THE STEWARDSHIP OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION .

Look before the current Big Idiots ,
there were others , who at the height
of Our Players domination in International Cricket ; those in the
governance of Cricket in the Region
refused to start a Pro or Semi Pro League in the Region .

This was during a time when they could have had several Financial Sponsors beating down the Doors .

HISTORY INFORMS US THAT

THEY DID NOTHING .

When England decided to limit the
number of Overseas Players playing
Cricket in England ; and then it was
decided to change the International
Tour Schedule , that was the genesis
of the decline of West Indies Cricket

For many years , what I have stated
above was lost on succeeding Members of the WICBC , who were oblivious to
what was happening regarding the competitiveness of our Players in the
International Cricket Arena .

About 5 years ago , it finally dawned on the Big Idiots ; that they should have a Regional League . This is precisely why in the longer formats of the game our Players are currently wallowing at or near the Bottom of International Cricket .

Most of those in the governance of West Indies Cricket , have spent too
much time involved in SELF PRESERVATION , rather than protecting
the Rich History of West Indies Cricket .

They refuse to change their 1929 Structure , which allows them to be Arrogant ; Egotistical ; not Transparent or Accountable & Bad
Stewards of Cricket in the Region .

In essence they are modern day MIMIC
MEN , who relish behaving like those
who in the 20th century were in the governance of Cricket in the Region .

Tagwa1 2017-01-26 07:30:27

Special Programme...is kinda sounding as alternative facts.

Thank god Lara, who was chubby, never had the WICB to put him on a special programme.

We once had a footballer in our team, who at 18, we thought was a bit too chubby.

He was put on a "special programme" to be how we wanted him to be, never mind that same year he was adjudged U19 OECS MVP.

He hit the gym became muscle bound and..was never the same again. It was like he couldn't understand his new body.

Be careful....

In this very Forum ; I have applauded what they are doing for Cornwall . However that cannot & cannot excuse the behaviour of the People in the
WICBC .

YOU SEEM TO BE INSINUATING THAT WE

MUST ALL PAY HOMAGE TO THE WICBC ,

FOR ONE GOOD DEED IT HAS DONE .

In essence I must not be critical of
the fact that the WICBC has not changed its Structure since it was formed .

The WICBC has never been Transparent ; Accountable or Exercised Good Governance . Its relationship with its Employees is abysmal .

But apparently YOU & Others do not believe that that the above is very important to achieve Progress in West
Indies Cricket . WE ALL need to be very critical of the WICBC , and hold it to an acceptable level of Stewardship .

Can anyone tell me why does Cornwall needs special help?

There are many talented 19 to 23 year old in the region.

Now if you do not like what I write
YOU & those of your Ilk are not compelled to read what I write . You

I do not recall asking You & others not to read what I write . Now GET

Cricket Board in the Commonwealth
have done that .

I want to sear in your mind and the minds of the other Lackeys of the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth , that the WICBC lacks Transparency ; Accountability &
Good Governance .

NOW all you have to do is to factually point out where in what I have written is a LIE . I have written extensively
about the Incompetence of the WICBC ,

I have stated that the WICBC over the years has commissioned several Reports and then rejected the salient
features of those Reports . Is this
TRUE OR FALSE ???

The people in the WICBC has habitually caused turmoil just before
our Players engage in International
Cricket Matches . Is this TRUE or
FALSE ????

The people in the WICBC lack InterPersonal Skills , and that is
detrimental to having harmonious relations with its Employees . Is this TRUE or FALSE ?????

Since its existence in 1929 , WHY is
it that only 5 years ago it dawned on the people in the WICBC that it was
necessary to form a Pro League ???

WHY WAS THIS NOT DONE IN THE GOLDEN

ERAS OF WEST INDIES CRICKET WHEN

THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FINANCIAL

SPONSORS BREAKING DOWN THE DOORS OF

THE WICBC ???

WHY IS IT THAT SINCE 1929 THE WICBC

HAVE REFUSED TO CHANGE ITS STRUCTURE

????

These are ALL pertinent questions
that You need to ask those who have brainwashed You & Others .

MY TAKE IS THAT THE TRUTH HAS YOU &

OTHERS ALL TIED UP ; IT SURE AINT

SETTING YOU FREE .

You love being seduced by the Shamisma of those in the WICBC , so go ahead & drink the KOOL AID that
the people in the WICBC are peddling .

That goes without me stating it . I
am not interested in what Islands the Members of the WICBC come from , because they are ALL Awful Administrators of Cricket in the Region .

WE need persons who will park their egotistical Attitude aside , and are
willing to take , good & sound advice
even from the Players .

They must also be willing to change their 1929 Structure , and have harmonious relations with their Employees for the betterment of Cricket in the Region & our Players
competitiveness in the International
Cricket Arena .
