Otis Redding-Pain in My Heart

it resonates on so many levels, there is no other song like it in the world
it connects me to my people before me and the ones to come

Bring it on Home to ME - Sam Cooke
For those who have no number ones.

-Take your pick.
Gnarls Barkley crazy- acoustic version
Have a couple:
Sam Cooke - A change gonna come...goosebumps hearing it again
and of course the immortal Bob, One Love
...if your spirit is not elevated, remove the veil of illusion
In reply to XDFIX
Thinking hard about this but whenever I think of a well established mainstream one I find a T&T one that I connect with deeper...very conflicting for me..
It's a toss up between US,Jam,T&T or British music....
Can't choose one,this is one.
Not just for it's sound but for it's relevance, accuracy and nostalgia....
In reply to StumpCam
rass bwoy!
In reply to Curtis
Hard to choose one, that's one of my favorites right there, there are songs for different moods and times then there are timeless ones like thatI think that's the key to a great song..timeless relevance.
Ron Kenoly's "Ancient of Days".
No latter day song makes it to favorite list - that spells trouble for folks in the region because music is part of the history of a people!

Aint nobody-Rufus&ChakaKhan
This was not easy but
Aint Nobody-
WHY:
Always reminds me of Gods love for me and that He will never leave me nor forsake me.

it is hard for me to pick a favorite song because songs are about moods, spirit, circumstances and situations right. I rather list the four songs I have concentrated on the most in the last year.

In reply to Curtis
Link - I have a million versions.
I love Marley too - all Marley.
For best musical arrangement of all time I pick dis one
Wicked!
Peter has/had a beautiful voice
In reply to np
I love good music and have many many songs I love but if I had to pick one it has to be Imagine which covers my world view and left an indelible impression from day one.
One of di baddest everYears ahead of its time - Marvin and the environment
In reply to Chrissy
I hear you Sis. Imagine is a song with an absolute message ... love it too ... but the 2 I mentioned are my ALLTIME favs ...
for sound, arrangements, multiple talented voicing "Stay in my Corner" is a bomb - void of new technology arrangements etc etc.
And YES to Mercy Mercy Me ... a world beater ahead of its time by years!!!
In reply to Chrissy
What's Going On has to be Marvin's best, with Lets get it on, being #2.
What's Going On
Lets get it on
Keep 'em coming!
