Fed has 5 AO now
are u about to start complaining that he has too many of one kind?
In reply to doosra
Yes, he has too many Wimbledon titles, too many US Open titles, and too many Australian Open titles.

That 5th set was special. I didn't see that one coming after he was broken early. I just thought to myself, "here we go again."
I've seen Nadal's vulnerabilities against Djoker, but this is the first time I saw them against Federer.
Brad Gilbert said those were the best five games of Federer's career.
Who would've thought that after being 3-1 down in the third, he'd come back to win the set 6-3 and not drop another game?
If Federer didn't go for his usual mental stroll at the start of the 2nd and 4th set, he could've wrapped that match up a lot sooner.
Credit to Nadal for battling all the way through, as he always does. And even more credit to him for his graciousness in defeat.

Rafa Nadal is the most gracious player in world tennis - win or lose. I think he has a deep philosophical perspective of life and tennis.

Tennis also teaches you to be a good sportsman. Humble/modest in victory, gracious in defeat. Not all tennis players have that in them, but they understand that's the way the game is supposed to be played.
Respect the game, respect the rules, respect your opponent.
Before Federer, Stefan Edberg was my favourite player, and it had as much to do with his character as it did his game.
That's why the ATP named the sportsmanship award after Stefan.

Federer is pretty gracious himself but you're right, Nadal is as humble as a lamb to royal george.
Great win for Roger ...didn't think he had it in him to beat Rafa and definitely not in five sets. But it wasn't that long of a match despite the five sets and that, plus of course the sublimity of his tennis, was a big factor. That"s eighteen for him now if he can maintain this form then why not number nineteen in six months time at the All-England>

Edberg backhand

Ah yes, that beautiful Edberg backhand. Old school, technically sound, textbook stuff. I don't know how he managed to get away with that forehand of his though. Talk about an extreme grip on the forehand side.
Loved to watch Edberg. Never saw anyone get to net faster than Stefan.

That's another aspect of Roger's play; pace. The guy will win service games at love in under a minute, or just over. I doubt he's ever been warned for a time violation.
Even after a taxing point, he's right up at the baseline ready to serve. It can actually be quite intimidating.
Roger will play matches that go the full five sets, and yet they will still be faster than some matches that only last three or four sets.

My favourite tennis player too. Loved seeing his battles with Becker. Two of the best at their craft.
