Simmons, son of entertainment personality Wayne “Kool” Simmons and grandson of former Government minister Keith Simmons, enjoyed the rare distinction of dismissing all ten opposing batsmen while playing for Franklyn Stephenson Academy against YMPC at Beckles Road, St Michael.
The Combermere fast bowler, a member of the champion West Terrace Primary School team three years ago, finished with the amazing figures of ten wickets for 16 runs from 5.3 overs. Only two runs were scored off the bat, while the remainder came from extras.
Six of his victims were bowled and another three fell by the lbw route as YMPC were dismissed for 38 in 10.3 overs before Franklyn Stephenson Academy completed an easy ten-wicket win.

The private academy he is at, is run by Franklyn Stephenson, a former West Indies and Barbados fast bowler
This academy has been taking youngsters to South Africa and England during the summer.
The youngster was on the Mason show this evening
He has an English passport, so he has options.

Last weeks two openers from this academy knocked off 250 runs without losing a wicket.

I am not sure if his father was born in England, his grand dad study Law in the UK, his granddad was a founding member of Maple, he was a good footballer and Avg cricketer.

Was told recently that as a minister, his granddad introduced the summer camp concept to Trent and the St James.

You should have heard about the Simmonds as a youngster.

I hope his dad is smart enough to pursue the "eligible to play for England" option.

His dad said, the way West Indies cricket is going, the only choice his son will have when he grow up, is playing for England.
