lol the instant I saw the weather alert I thought of np.

NOLA has not had it easy over the past few years (oil spill, weather, mayor...) yet they always persevere - and what a beautiful city BTW.
twisted evil twisted

Safe like a padlock!! the areas I live and work in were under watch .... heavy rains and hail etc ... the touchdowns ( a few, 4 at least) .. closest was about 10/15 miles away from work in New Orleans East.

New Orleans East

Others touch downs in nearby towns -- about 35-40 miles away ... Donaldsonville, Killian, Madisonville --- structural damages mainly, overturned vehicles ... and so far a few injuries reported -- no deaths -- YET.

TU was on FULL ALERT and readiness!!

Thanks for checking in!!

Some UPDATES post tornADOS ... more official news coming out of TU based on serious follow-up investigations with Weather folk and trackers, and families ...

A message from President Fitts--

Dear Tulane Community:

Yesterday at least eight tornadoes touched down in New Orleans and surrounding parishes, destroying homes and businesses and injuring at least two dozen people. Thankfully, no lives were lost. Tulane University's campuses, including those on the both sides of Lake Pontchartrain, in Jefferson Parish and in Mississippi were spared any damages. We are currently canvassing our employees to determine if any suffered damages to home or other property and how we might assist them. So far, we know that at least one employee's home was destroyed and another's sustained damage. We are also assessing how we might help our neighbors who were impacted by this storm.

We are grateful to the many Tulane friends and family members from around the country who called and wrote to check on us during and after the storm. The weather can change in an instant, but one constant is the care and concern the Tulane family has for one another.

Mike

PS ... there are now more employees than ONE -- reporting home, and car damages, plus damages to their families in and around these areas.
