Pride vs Scorpions

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:17:20

Holder's captaincy challenged here with Walton/Taylor on a flyer.

Although its so clear that the pacers did not have a good start..although he has so much spin reserves and Stoute yet he goes for Brathwaite and Brathwaite.

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:21:01

C'mon Holder you have other bowlers here...why allow Jamaica to post 100 without loss in 15 overs?

mikesiva 2017-02-09 13:28:58

In reply to analyst-kid

Scorpions – +Walton, S. Taylor, Blackwood, McCarthy, D. Thomas, Campbell, Powell, * Miller, G. Brown, Leveridge, Sewell

Pride – K. Brathwaite, Stoute, +Hope, Chase, Carter, Dowrich, *Holder, C. Brathwaite, Nurse, Warrican, Cummins

You have Nurse, Chase and Warrican and you bowling Kraigg at set openers?

mikesiva 2017-02-09 13:31:17

In reply to analyst-kid

lol

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:32:26

Holder to me remains a dunce captain...allowing batsmen to get comfortable against lesser bowlers.

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:36:01

Carlos Brathwaite's stats bowling in this tournament is 3 wickets @ 34.66.

He is nowhere as good as Stoute and Bajan allrounders plying their trade in other territories like Reifer ( 16 wickets@ 23.04) ,Mayers (12 wickets @ 28.33) and he has not the pace and penetration of even young Harding ( 10 wkts @ 21.60) playing for CCC.

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:38:27

Now he brings on Nurse, the leading bowler of the tournament after Scorpions post near 100 on the board.....now isn't this captain a dunce?

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:44:10

Nurse takes the wicket of Taylor for 45...not surprised at all...Holder had enough bowling depth that Nurse could have entered earlier for a 4 over spell and stem this run flow!

Scorpions 100/1 in 18 overs

analyst-kid 2017-02-09 13:46:18

In reply to cherri

just analysing the proceedings not blowing a gasket...Holder's dunce captaincy just continues to amaze me! Andrew Mason will blow the gasket not me.

The Pride already topped its division, and may want to chase a total over 250 runs, after batting poorly in two games.
The Pride bowlers in the semi will be, Roach, Holder, Carlos, Nurse, Benn and Chase
Enjoy the game man, not everything deserve such scrutiny

I've never rated Carlos Braffit as a bowler... too pedestrian by far... certainly in terms of test cricket.

mikesiva 2017-02-09 14:07:11

Walton gets his half century. Well played!
cool
Or not! Out for 45 to nurse. Conflicting tweets from wicb twitter.

Scorpions hexposing Pride bowling attack,I expected that,it's going to be quite a job for Pride to to win another match ,they are losing this one.

Mccarthy out to warrican for eight.

NYCGURU 2017-02-09 14:52:29

In reply to mikesiva

Now 172 for 4, as Blackwood drags one unto his stump attempting a pull off Holder.

yardman83 2017-02-09 15:03:47

In reply to NYCGURU

Then Campbell gives away his hand as is normal. All that was need was to consolidate until the 40th over before they excelled... smh. these guys do not think! That shot was not necessary. Making Nurse out to be very exceptional.

One more match before the semis
Win toss against CCC, play the Semis players, and move Nurse, and Carlos up the batting order, to get some batting practice.
I'll also like to see Holder at four

granite 2017-02-10 03:23:50

Me did see dis pon de crystal ball lang time,an me did tell uno.No GM here! lol

analyst-kid 2017-02-10 11:25:09

In reply to openning

Carlos and Holder are seriously underperforming with the bat here...in particular Carlos.

Holder underperforming as a captain allowing Jamaica to fly to an excellent start without bringing on your frontline spinners.

Carlos underperforming with bat and ball...with guys like Stoute not bowling and Greaves and Kenroy Williams watching on the outside. Even Brooks watching cause with Stoute and Carter bowling Carlos' quota ..room could have been placed for Brooks.

analyst-kid 2017-02-10 11:32:48

You could imagine I here cussing Jason and now see him in my office in front me?

I asked him direct how he could let Scorpions get away and make so much runs and all he could do is chuckle!

Cherri and Openning correct....stop worrying.

The Pride already won its zone, and may face Jamaica again in the finals, so bowling Kraigg gave the yard faults hope.
I really don't like the chase, a power hitter at #5 or #6 is needed, maybe moving Carlos or Ashley up the order, is something they can look at, in the final match against CCC.

Leveridge is as raw as meat without lime or lemon, a good straight drive would wake him up.
