Dujon;" Hammie is the best pure keeper on show".

voiceofreason 2017-02-16 18:47:12

Saying that a long time now. His batting has potential but needs to be more consistent.

Wicketkeeping is 50% of any player's duty these days, Hamilton just dont fit the bill.
Ambris, Walton, Hope and Dowrich ahead of him, when batting.

Coming from a guy who thinks that Chandrika and KB's s/r is acceptable I would take your input with a grain of salt.

Hamilton averages 69.28 this season in FC so if he could build on that I could see him becoming our Test keeper. One dayers you may able to get away with a makeshift keeper but we need a competent gloves man in tests.

Andy99 2017-02-16 22:16:14

Walton eh no ahead of Hamilton.
Man ole as fcuk and averages below 30.

It goes (if Ramdin is out of consideration) Dowrich then Hamilton next in line.
If Hope keeps then yeah he is ahead of Hamilton in all formats and ahead of Dow in ODIs but behind Dow in Tests.

Again. I never said that he should be the keeper in ODIS. He has some work to be done there in regards to his batting. He had a great opportunity last night when he was promoted to 4 and blew it.

However in Tests he must be considered seriously especially if he maintains his batting average over 40 this season.

Again I value Dujon's input more than yours.

Wonder if Dujon had said he was not a good keeper if you would value the imput the same way.........classic case of not what is said, but who said it..............

Nobody said any thing about ODI. His batting, and therefore has average in first class cricket has improved significantly. If he continues to improve and/or remain consistent he must be considered for a move to the test team. Btw, dujon didn't say anything that we didn't already know or already say. But as we in the west indies are all about branding, its good for the young man to get noticed and endorsed by people who's opinions matter.

Dude, who said he not among the best in the region?
You have three other young keepers batting better than him, thats all I am saying ant two are already in the test squad.

But hes's also a better keeper. So just imagine for a minute if his batting continues to improve. Wouldnt it be a good idea to draft him in and let the others play as batsman?

You should know better. Just because they are both Bajan that is your gripe with Hamilton. You feel that he will take their slots.

Stewpss. He is the best keeper of the lot and once he continues to put up the batting numbers he should be in the Test Squad...Don't get nervous for your BOYS dem.

Whats being the best has to do with today's wicketkeeping role?
His he a better wicketkeeper than Ramdin?
Why is the best keeper in the region, not playing in all formats?
Let me answer you, it is his batting.
Hamilton has to perform with the bat, to get the job ahead of Hope, Dowrich and Ambris.

You head real hard oui. Thankfully you are not a selector. He is performing well this season at 4day and once he continues the selectors will have no choice but to select him.

Break down the door Hamilton because a small island youth like you have to work 10 times harder than the rest. Make them tek notice!

Dowrich and Hope will have to fail at the International and Regional levels for that to happen
Hammy was ahead of both of them, but allyuh messed up his progress, by allowing Thomas to ball stopped ahead of him.
Pure Keeper is a nineties saying, Gilchrist, Sanga and Dhoni changed that.

Well he is still miles ahead of them when it comes to wicket-keeping and it is always good to have options. So his time will come sooner rather than later.

I do not disagree that he must break down the door with bat and gloves.

its a good endorsement and hopefully it encourages the youth to dig in and live up to that kind of faith by putting in the work...

* asterisk placed next to him to observe over the year.

Hopefully he gets some opportunities and is reported on so we can track him

DuJon was talking bout his wicket keeping, not his batting. Look back at the thread's title.
