ODI team taking shape...bring on Hingland
In reply to Narper
Would be nice to have Bravo in there as it would be a more formidable team. Developing nicely otherwise. I hope they don;t bring back Samuels.
In reply to openning
Selectors almost destroyed this youth by putting him to open in tests.
good knock congrats Shai

Brilliant. Barbados were hobbling and going nowhere. That's a top knock. Wish I could watch, but I'm busy at work. Hopefully highlights will be made available online.

I am confident Bravo will be back...if he wants to come back
Now run out...trying to tief a leg bye
SD Hope run out 101 (98b 5x4 5x6) SR: 103.06

Powell to Nurse, OUT, another slower and shortish ball, once again Nurse can't connect and wears it on the pad. Both the batsman ran across for a leg bye but Powell ran forward and collects the ball, flicks the stumps on the run at the keeper's end and Hope was found short.

for a very long time I havent seen a thinking WI batsman like Shai....calculating, decisive, and effective
In reply to runout
I still think his brother is better, he just has to adapt to opening
In reply to Devin
You should watch, he gets very close to the ball almost Kholish, and smothers it.

Bravo will be back to do what exactly, average 30 at a strike rate of 69?
In reply to Baje
I saw him when he played Test cricket. He didn't look bad, but they did him a disservice by making him open. Same goes for Leon Johnson. Shouldn't be asking middle order batsmen to open.

Bravo could bat...but in the last few years something wrong with his head...he has stagnated and only showed glimpses of his class....he has to sort that out...or don't come back
In reply to Narper
Since dat NZ tour, he lost it all...something that happened then is really bugging him!
In reply to WestDem
Is it what happened on tour in NZ or T&T?
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
Yuh too bad.
In reply to WestDem
He did not want to face dibbly dobblies in the nets and Sammy pelt down his rass. Since then he has been struggling on and off the field.
He needs all the help he can get now even from Sammy to remove the "three witches".
I put my hand up to help.
...but back to the focus of this thread...super tanker from Shai Hope.
Btw. Dave Cameron says: "it's up to he, Bravo" whatever that means.

You forgot one more incident - he thought that he has arrived; therefore, he took it upon himself to criticize the captain for not bowling Bishoo as first change. I am sure you remembered that incident.
Is he a little backstabber in the making?
What Bravo suppose to do from here forward is not to believe everything he thinks.
In reply to Narper
Not buying dat Narps. If you are a batsman of note you should be able to bat anywhere from 1 - 6. Those are big opportunities youngsters got to grab with both hands.
I think he will do better if given the same opportunity again. A year and a good local season makes a lot of difference in development and confidence...
In reply to Kay
In theory yes...in practice it doesn't happen so.
The opening position is the most specialized of all the batting positions.
And remember it was Hope's test debut at age 21. It would be easier for an established batsman to fill in the opening spot than a rookie...but even for a veteran it is hard.
