The most innovative WI Country?

black 2017-02-21 12:19:38

I saw a program a while back with some real innovative stuff coming out of Jamaica.

I know Bravos would be eager to show off Trini companies and technologies. lol

If I just go into industry, technology and commerce there would be no thread,so let's start with some of the simpler and more obvious things lol.

Show me the country that took old rusty available oil drums and made a precise musical instrument and I'll show you the most innovative country in the Caribbean.

Show me a country that was a pioneer in monetizing natural gas from a bi-product to a primary product and in the process changed an entire economy and I'll show you the most innovative country in the Caribbean.

Show me a country that has leveraged it's position to become the largest exporter of Methanol and Ammonia in the world and I'll show you innovation.

Show me a country that has produced it's own unique culinary and fusions in other cultural offerings that are more popular than those of the motherlands and I'll show you innovation.

Show me a country with the most successful sea turtle preservation programs in the world and I'll show you innovation.

Plenty more to list.

Of course we have dropped the ball at times and have a long way to go but we're on the right track and definitely a Caribbean leader in innovation..

Here it is in English a shortened version from the original one though, they cut it up maybe it was too long..read between the lines, pure innovation, tangible and intangible..

Y’all seems to have all the R&D, patents and brain power to be the leading innovator in the world.

And not to forget the razor fences that you are selling to keep the thieves from stealing the innovations you lauded.

You’re living on the cutting edge, in more ways than one.

The soundtrack for vid an all is a sample of that innovation..how many Caribbean countries can carry a whole program to the world with an indigenous invention?

How does that translate to being better than the rest?

Yuh killing me dude.

So Trinidad should not innovate for the sake of other Islands?

Truth be told Guyanese Yardies and Trinis are among the top improvisers/innovators on the ground in real life..maybe guyanese a bit more,T&T and Jamaica had the luxury of dealing with foreign business early more hence our slight lead and higher standards.but Guyana in line now and with plenty T&T and Yard influence to boot....

Guyana has the potential to be WI leader at some point,it always shifts..it was Jam then T&T and maybe Guyana next,Bim's too much of a lillyput to hold it'sown in this regard, little England will always be snotty and entitled little subjects riding on the queen's dress tail..

Down with the Royal Family!! smile

Curtis 2017-02-21 16:16:04

In reply to bravos

Not to mention the sheer creative genius to combine a barrah and channa with delicious sauces to make Doubles. Guyanese had all those ingredients but never thought to combine.

bravos 2017-02-21 16:20:57

Guyana just needed that influence and it's on the way now..Guyana is a real success story in my book and can only go up from here.

I am not claiming any other island is better at innovation. And I honestly do not know how one can even go about that exercise. It is a quite typical black thread.

Ridiculous premises only serving to get responses.

T&T always had such characters, man I tell you this country is something else, bubbling with innovation and ambition just need direction..

In reply to black

Lol yeah.

Tell me of another WI country that coulda done something like this without foreign input, equip and personnel.. They have some real big and impressive world class moves under their belts..

We make it happen in T&T for T&T business first,..always been like that...I used to be mad as a kid with all the local stuff and wanted more things to be foreign,I was even bored at the 'NP' gas stations and wanted to see Shell Esso etc but as I grew older I started to realize wow this is all ours!!

bravos 2017-02-21 21:04:50

In reply to Oilah

Cuba may be the most innovative in the world after the vindictive wickedness they had to endure.

The most innovative WI Country?

Detail Oilah....Details..

We can even go a step further and say Latin America or the whole Americas too you know, but I'm afraid many of our WI countries wouldn't even figure in or qualify for that scope..I certainly know T&T's position there,so you wanna keep this WI or not?
wink
