An Indian turner backfires

ProWI 2017-02-24 02:35:04

Teach them a lesson Aussies. Tell them to stop preparing custom made pitches for easy home victories.

Loving it! Serves them right! I mean I don't have any horse in the race but it is good to see a blatant plan like this backfire. smile

My bet is on India to win this match. Just remember that I told you so...

djdrastic 2017-02-24 11:14:51

This game ain't over by a long shot thought I will add was nice watching the grenade explode in Indias face for once.

This game is more or less over. India faces almost 300 already and Australia still has 6 wickets intact, including that of Smith. The surface won't improve and all Australia's spinners have to do is bowl with a fair degree of accuracy and the pitch will do the rest. They don't even have to turn it much. If anything Ashwin got too much turn and beat the bat rather than take the edge as O'Keefe did on a number of occasions. I think Australia already have enough on this wicket, although you can never tell with cricket

This is a lesson for the WICB.
That hey prepare pitches to suit our players instead of catering to the opposition.
Since when are we a docile slave nation to tend to the needs of others?
Time to bring back Kensington an Sabina as feared venues and QPO as a pitch deceptive but good for both fast men and spinners alike.
Enough with this batters only game.

No one wants matches to end in 3 days because of poor pitches. Will the ICC sanction India for creating a substandard pitch?

It was not the pitch, it was the Aussies who played like champs- Brave, Bold, Daring and Enterprising and India who played like chumps.

Look, India planned a few series at home during the past two years which was designed to have them become number one- they used their money, power and influence to take advantage of the flawed ranking system.

But the world do not see them as champions until they play a balance of home and away including tours to England in the early season, NZ in the early green top season, South Africa and Pakistan- in UAE.
