Taxi and truck drivers are two that I can think about.

Yours - whatever you are doing.
Store clerks automated cash-out.
Soldiers cyber warfare.
Drivers of trains, planes and automobiles all will become self-driving.
In reply to XFactor
Good list. I think soldiers are going to be augmented by technology, not replaced. We will see a reduction in the number of soldiers though.

So you don't think computers are going to be automated to eliminate programmers and the like????
In reply to StumpCam
Machines and robots can do everything except play professional sports.
As for Programmers, everything will be in a framework so all they have to do is to install plugins and components.
Designers and Systems Architects will have a job.
In reply to XFactor
I doubt that very much! Even though those vehicles may be self-driving, they would still require personnel (operators) on board!
In reply to StumpCam
Yes, they will require a person on board for emergencies but that will come with a big reduction in pay. I will say a reduction of about 2/3 of personnel.

Human error is the major cause of accidents in vehicles. It is better to leave them out of the operation. Humans will just screw up.
All the accidents that have been caused in self-driving that are being tested are a result of human intervention.
In reply to XFactor
So, will machines fix themselves whenever they malfunction???
In reply to StumpCam
It depends on the malfunction.

Nothing- but if you count posting all day here, then you are onto something.

You see the potential to make some serious money here? This is you chance to create a Union for the Robots and Machines!!!

What are you doing, plotting?
In reply to XFactor
Well now that we have Robot War type tournaments going on, even that could be something to watch for down the line.
One can't survive without the next, there will always be work for human, just the nature of work will change. With the move more and more to technology, it means more work in the technological field. Besides, robot without a human brain behind it is useful. Machines are known to have glitches, and when they do, humans are needed.
In reply to jen
Yes, there is always going to be work for humans, but the more robots that are employed, the less work (available) for humans.
