Great, great speech.

Van Jones of CNN said he became the President of the United States with that speech tonight.

Gentler speech but the proof will be in his actions.

Healthcare Reform is going to make or break him. It is not an easy task, health has no political allegiance.

birdseye 2017-02-28 23:16:14

I think the speech was more out of duty than of natural inclination – the speech was what his handlers crafted – rather than Trumps natural instincts---thus for me - the speech had no moral worth…. Lot of sleight of hand – a three card monte ------

I inherited the worst economy in history – a total mess …REALLY?

An actor lends more force to a tragic character the more careful he is not to exaggerate it.

Markets up bigly today, for those of you who still haven't entered the market you are missing the opportunity of the century. The DOW is now over 21,000 later in a month or two when it hits 23,000 the folks on the sideline will finally go "oh shit" then jump in.

I had the opportunity to watch a part of the speech, in the middle somewhere, and was pleasantly surprised at his presentation. While there was nothing of real substance being put forward, he presented his topics in and acceptable if not admirable fashion.

The constant robot-like (well rehearsed) applause was a turn-off though. They sounded more like laugh-tracks from some old television show.

I agree, however wasn't it the same with Obama and for that matter every president who has ever given a SOU type speech?

johndom90 2017-03-01 10:42:03

In reply to Ninetenjack

It may have been the same for Obama but the difference is in delivery of the spoken word. Terump mutilates the English language when he is verbatim snd his reading skills again demonstrated last night are way below par for this level.

His reading skills reminded of my high school poetry classes where i just did not have the delivery or knack/ depth to bring out the color..ferling..intent.

Wow!!! Is that your beef? It used to be that he has nothing of substance to offer and he will definitely fail, now he is being mocked for his style of delivery and usage of the English language.

What next???? As Ninetenjack said go check the markets and make some smart business decisions for yourself instead of majoring in the minors....

In reply to Kay

Its part of the whole package that does not paint a pretty picture of the man. Last night was an attempt at polishing up his act...sanitizing so to speak, but it is not a role that he is comfortable with.

Does this leader of the free world inspire you when he speaks....forget his narcissisti tendies...lack of etiquette..etc.

No, in others you could detect spontaneity even if rare. On some items only a handful would applaud, and from different sections of the audience. Not so with this one, everyone was in unison.

Wall street indicators, fraudsters, wheelers and dealers are your idea of financial security?

Wall street is nothing but a pack of cards boosted by years of quantitative easing, budget deficit spending and the war industry. Quote those figures from now till thy kingdom come....those numbers can go down twice as fast as they go up
