Don't you know many in the Republican leadership are hoping that the Democratic opposition keeps up this pressure on Trump, because they can't afford to be seen doing it, less the Orange Man goes on a tirade and loosen his Deplorable attack dogs on them.
The more this pressure is kept up, the quicker they would get their man Pence. But, first they would also like to get some of their long term goals accomplished.
The eventual winner in all of this Trump experience is Russia. If Trump succeeds in this effort to change and destroy American democracy, Putin wins.
And, if Trump is exposed for the charlatan he is and loses in the end, Putin still wins, because of the division that this Trump presidency would have caused, and would become almost irreparable

Dude, it's more than that. A significant amount of Trump's businesses are financed by Russians, whether they have ties to the Russian Government, is another story. But, Trump don't want to risk losing his assets, that is why he is being nice to them.
And, then you have to ask yourself, why no retaliation from Russia, after Obama kicked thirty something Russians out of the Country?
